Corum was the better RB today. I appreciate KW for what he does for the offense but when he comes out cold like he does today it consistently puts us behind the sticks. And of course that's not all his fault, but it did seem like he was running with the same holes Corum was yet he was hitting them slower and getting taken down easier.

One of the strengths of RBBC is the competition you can get going between your backs. Where they feed off each other and that depth can offer you consistent production week to week. This is the first year we've had real depth in the backfield. And it's a really good sign to see Corum show up finally, looking like the dude we drafted.

Maybe in a month or so our rook will get involved in that mix too. Which would be really nice for the playoff run.

I guess the fact that there were no holes to burst thru for KW has nothing to do with it.

Did you even read my post? I said it wasn't all his fault, just a surface level analysis without having re-watched the game yet.

However as a Kyren supporter, the excuses are running thin. We need to see more explosive plays, Corum appears capable of delivering.

What goes around comes around.

Remember when Akers was getting hit by 3 dlinemen in the backfield every touch while kw had huge holes to run through?

Today I saw a little more patience with Corum in the game. Then he has that burst to hit the crease, and get to the second leve. From there, he was able to make a couple of guys miss.
It's only one game, but I liked what I saw from BC today.

Corum is more explosive and faster than Kyren. Period. He's now starting to feel a little more comfortable at the NFL level.
Kyren is an excellent running back and great guy to have on the team.
I think if Corum earns more carries, the Rams will be better. Better chances of gaining really big chunks on the ground or on screen plays than with Kyren.

This is the first time he has looked like the player he was in college. That's the best way to let the staff know you need increased snap count. :thumbsup1:
The way he jumped up and pounded his chest after those big runs shows that he knows it too.

He looked like he was shot out of a cannon on some of those plays. Hopefully he keeps getting touches and make KW work harder to "prove" he was worthy of his contract.

I'm probably the biggest Kyren Williams fan on this board but I'm thinking Blake Corum needs to get more touches.
His runs pretty much brought us out of our funk after that crazy Cam Ward touchdown throw.
I can't find his stats yet but he had three runs that were 15 plus yards.
Im usually negitave to Corum, but Im warming up to him. Corum had 2 15 yards. Thats after that opened up the field like they should have been doing the entire game. Notice at the end of the game Kyren marched right down the field too and had an explosive play? Most of the game was Kyren stuffed behind the line before he cold blink.

Play-By-Play was basically like this. run, Penalty, run, Pen,Pass, Pass, inc, Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass, Pass

Soon as Kyren was warming up to get through them, and they should have stuck to it, they go back to pass, pass, pass, Punt. Run the ball to establish the running game early and often!
