Phew. Backup QB is one of those positions that makes me nervous. Having Bortles there makes me so much more comfortable. Here's hoping BB gives us a 'hometown discount' to stick around next year & play for a championship caliber team, but yeah, his trade value will likely skyrocket for us by the end of the season -- or even mid-season. Just look at what the Vikes gave up for Bradford mid-season when Bridgewater went down.

Knowing what we know now, Pats/Rams SB again, we get stymied on offense, watch McVay throw Bortles out there for a few bootlegs or bootleg fakes just so the Pats are faced with something they haven't seen. All it takes is one Philly Cheese-Steak play and the Pats can get on the ropes. We have a plan B.

QBR is horseshit. But almost every QB plays worse/bad under pressure.

Not very many guys are trending up in this situation. Would you rather have Winston? His numbers go way up when pressured.

No but if you watch any game that Goff is pressured he makes horrible decisions. Idk why I’m such a bad guy for pointing that out. Lol
He gets spastic and jumpy in the pocket. He will literally hop up and down as the pocket closes on him.

So why is Goff acknowledged to be one of the better off schedule throwing QB's if he's such a panic stricken guy? We must be watching 2 different guys. One of his problems is that a lot of McVays routes are slow developing and there simply weren't a lot of dumpoff options. The other was Goff at times is slow to make his reads. That part they are working on and the other is something I'm sure McVay is working on. But "Spastic?" Dude that is a bit offensive and simply not true.

Pressure up the middle, rolls out and throws a dime to Woods. You said anytime he’s pressured he makes horrible decision. Well, you’re fucking wrong.

Is this the best looking qb room in the leauge?

Yeah, I think the Rams will finally use more of their TEs this year for that reason - as safety valves so that Goff will have another option. Block their man for a second then break free as another option.
