It's looking like there may not be as many openings as some had speculated.

Right now? Looks like Morris is back in 24.. unless no one wants the Panthers job and he decides it's worth the risk (and is offered it, of course).

A lot depends on Belichick... if he's fired, he gets another job if he wants one. Lots of speculation he'd be in Atlanta.

Will be an interesting few weeks.

Daboll is a piece of garbage
That defense played hard all year, unfortunately for them they were supported by such a dreadful offense.
Offense scored 14 ppg for the season including a mere 11 ppg with his 40 mill QB
God they should have hired Flores

And *if* (or more likely WHEN) Michigan wins tonight, you can bet your ass that Harbaugh's name will be front and center among owners wish list. So some guys who are seemingly "safe" could find that change in a minute if its somewhere where Harbaugh could turn up.
Like Chicago where he could draft Harrison and his boy toy QB McCarthy
Or the NY Jets who could bring him in and draft McCarthy at 10 to sit behind AchillisRod for a year

For those who prefer to talk ball instead of acting childish, Glenn is on his first DC tour with the Lions. During this 3 year tour as DC here are his scoring defense rankings:

2021: 27.5ppg (31st in the league)
2022: 25.1ppg (28th in the league)
2023: 23.2ppg (23rd in the league)

Lions right now have the 5th best scoring offense in the league at 27.1ppg. Last season they were 5th as well. There's a good chance their defense will cause them to come up short in this year's playoffs. When that happens I submit there's a damn good chance they finally make a change at that coordinator spot to upgrade the defense.

This means that you have a guy whose job is probably going to be in question this offseason interviewing for a HC position. That strikes me as the owner checking a block with that interview.

This is also why I say I don't want Raheem going to DC. Because I like Raheem and don't want to see him get shit on by an ignorant fuck of an owner.

Rahim will get a few, but who else? I think the bigger threat is coordinators moving on to assist newly hired head coaches.

His tenure with the Jets was not great. I’d think that stench still follows LaFleur another season or more.

Strange

We’ll, “if you can dodge a wrench then you can dodge a ball” right?
I don't get it.

It strikes me as an idiotic hire.

I agree with your logic, but it was "Mr. Eat a W" who went rogue here. That guy is less mature than most adolescents .
Fair point. It's hard to blame the coach for that I'll admit but it still would concern me. I mean for example do you think Winston would do anything other than what McVay tells him in that huddle if he was our QB. It speaks to things being wrong in team discipline and nobody is going to win without that respect up and down.

Also I think Allen's a DC only. Nothing wrong with that either, there's just some guys who don't have the gravitas to run the whole thing.

I read Rivera was coach in Washington for four years and that was kind of trippy to me. Feels like he had been there a decade lol
Prolly felt like a decade (or more) to him!!
Some scuttlebutt that Vrabel wants out, yeah.
Scuttlebutt also said if Belichick was gone, Vrabel might have the job....if they can work it out.
I say BS - the team came real close to making the playoffs.I sure was worried when they came back on The Rams. They finished strong & never quit on him.
In a shit division, 'almost' isn't flattery.

On the Washington alacrity, rumors are out there BB would be hired in a NY second. So maybe to avoid the criticism they're interviewing as many as they can, including minority canidates. Not token minority interviews.....all token interviews.

I'd fire Dennis Allen if I was the Saints owner. And that's a today thing for me because he told his offense to take a knee there and they ran the play anyway. If your players think they can do what they want there's no way you'd be my coach.
I would cut Jameis Winston’s ass 5 minutes after the game for pulling that bullshit.

Clean out your fucking locker and hit the road asshole.

Agreed. Also and btw it will be funny when he has a hard time finding a backup job and the media types are freaking out and wondering why that is.

First-off, I completely agree. I am an older guy and I hate what Winston the Saints' players did.

Fucking Bush-League / Pussy-Move.

Also think it reflects poorly on their HC Dennis Allen that his players were comfortable ignoring his decision.

That being said ... I'm Old ... and things change.

I watched three different football specific shows today, with a total of eight people commenting on the Saints scoring a late, meaningless touchdown out of the victory-formation. I believe all eight commentators were between 35-50; and not a single one was outraged, or even, annoyed by what Winston and the Saints did. Couple thought it was kind of a weak-ass-move to do it out of the victory-formation but were not overly critical. No one thought it was a big deal.

Like I said ... things change.
