Such a dumbass statement by Siriani.

He should have said something about being a manager of their departments and he is the director of both departments.
That is exactly what James Franklin said when looking for two new coordinators this offseason. Franklin isn’t good on either side of the ball.

It’s funny that Siriani copy something from Franklin’s press conference.

Wondering if Belichick becomes a more attractive head coach option in 2025.

Thinking of teams with high-expectations that could fall short; or teams that may have coaches in a precarious situation for the upcoming season ... just a few thoughts ... Buffalo, Dallas, NY Giants.

Of course, I don't know but it's fun to speculate.

Not a fan of Belichick but I would like to see him in a booth. Think he might be entertaining talking football.
I have to watch most games now with the sound turned-off. I feel like Romo does not prepare or really care, Olsen is just speaking in cliches and reading off-a-script and Collinsworth is in perpetual shill-robot form.
Cheat on the halftime show..
“We’re on to the second half”

Cheat has supposedly done quite a bit of TV on local broadcasts in Boston.
I’m curious to see if he would be good.

I like Olsen as a color man.
I enjoy his takes and he seems to take nothing too seriously.

Agree that Belichick in a studio would be awful but talking about a single game, in real time, ... Maybe.

Analysts ... guess it's just a personal taste thing. Personally, I like Aikman when many here do not.

The next sideline reporter that I think brings value, will be the first to do so, in my opinion.

I think Goff is in the 6 - 10 range. Not elite but give him time and he will chew a defense apart. 5000 plus yards puts him up there.
QB rankings are fun and leave a lot to personal preference but I don't think I'd rate him that high. I think he' s just outside top 10 (with our boy Stafford coming in right around 10).

I've watched a number of Lions games and just really impressed with throws he's making, throws he wouldn't or couldn't throw when he was here. He's not a next gen QB, he can't create for sh*t. But damn, he's probably top 5 non athletic QB in the league now. Stafford, Herbert and maybe Love above him.

I’d expect him to be very particular about who he is paired with on a weekly basis.

I also speculate that he wouldn’t like a lot of the behind the scenes minutia that he’d have to deal with. Why would he want to be bothered?

However, if he did give it a shot, it could give him a chance to repair his image in the public eye.

I don’t think McVay would hire Belichick as a DC. But similar to how he sought advisement from Jay Gruden and Mike Munchak, I wouldn’t be surprised if he asked Belichick to get involved in a similar manor.

That would not suprise me either. McVay is all about learning the defensive rules so he can break them down in scheme. Which is at the heart of all gameplanning on that side of the ball of course but not all coaches are as relentless as he is in that way. It is one of the things that makes him so great IMO.

Problem is, if you can move him off his spot, then he struggles to make that pass on the move. Saw that yesterday at times.

So as he gets paid and the talent drops off around him, will he be able to step up and make up the difference? May be a few more yrs until they get to that point, but that OL will have to get paid soon, as will some of those weapons.

I mean, don't pay him top 10 QB money and I think you're fine.

Yep that's always been the book on him. Make him reset his feet and the success percentage on that down takes a nosedive.

Also and btw... I don't think he's gotten all that much better at perceiving pre-snap blitz threats at the LOS. And I suspect he's still dependent on center calls. Ragnow is known to be quite good, and as he admitted rightly so because he was trained by Stafford.

He had a $30 mil cap hit this year, so he's kinda getting paid already.. but the young talent around him isn't yet. That's where it will get dicey, imo.

I'm really interested in what his next contract is. Does he want a lot more? Or have his experiences taught him to value a home with stability? And what would he get on the open market? Is he better than Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield? I'm not really sure, to be honest.

my guess is he's going to want a ton of money, maybe not record breaking but definitely getting paid like a top 3 QB. Players in their prime are not going to give any home discount, they want as much as they can get.

That is too bad, wanted Quinn to end up in Seattle. Looks like that will be Mike MacDonald, who IMO, is a better hire. Cannot believe Ben Johnson, IMO, Johnson lacks confidence or maybe Washington was stunned for what he asked for salary wise, but I find that hard to believe.
Schefter suggested that contract was a sticking point.

It’s hard to tell if that’s true. Staley was a sudden hot commodity but only got a contract near the floor of what head coaches in the NFL make. He was a first time head coach and that’s logical. Maybe Johnson thinks that isn’t right in his case. Or maybe, for what their offering it isn’t worth what comes with being a head coach.

There could be a lot of different reasons it didn’t work.
