Oh, brother. Remember how bad our rush defense sucked when we played the Panthers in the 2003 post season.
Right after Lovie Smith was interviewing.
If I were the Commish I'd add a week to the playoff schedule before the wildcard round for interviews. That also gives the players a week of rest after a very long season. Owners would need to jam their interviews in during that week, then the coaches can resume a normal week of preps on Monday following.

Lovie didnt have the benefit of having a Zoom meeting interview

Problem is that playoffs go too long now. I was just thinking today that I remember the Super Bowl used to be around Jan 12th-15th etc...

Now, the playoffs go into the end of Jan with the SB around Feb 8th, 10th or so. As a result we have more of these 10 deg weather games that do affect who wins. You play all year in normal conditions, then the most important game of the year you play in tundra like conditions. I think that's BS.

I know, "football is football", "that's football weather", "both teams have to deal with it"... blah, blah, blah. I guess I am just scarred by too many big playoff games in Metropolitan Stadium, and then again in Soldier Field, back in my youth.

No Rams. Maybe the Rams get some sort of off-season coaching stability.

Mike McCarthy to Arizona? . . . We'd have a McVay, a Macdonald, a McCarthy and a Shanahan. NFC West becomes the NFC Irish division.

Klint Kubiak getting one of these is going to weaken the Hawks, which is good. Hoping he gets one.

Edit: Oh . . . Gannon is Irish? Well, w/e, carry on.

Two quick thoughts.
Of course, this is just one man's opinion (Jamie Eisner) but five of his eight "Best-Bets" are defensive coaches.
Regarding Matt Nagy ... I thought he was older (only 47); and had a winning record in four seasons in Chicago, with two playoff appearances.
Wasnt his opinion, he footnoted:

On a somewhat related note, if Mcdaniel goes unhired and I am Jim Harbaugh I am going after him full throttle.

I think Kubiak may be #3 on the list of candidates behind Harbaugh and Stefanski, my guess is he is a HC next season

Sometimes and frssh start is good for everyone. It was a failure of hom and the front office combined.

One thing I respect the hell out of with the Steelers is their patience with coaches. Speaks to their hiring acumen as well.

Gonna miss seeing Tomlin on that other sideline on those rare occasions I watch a Steelers game. It's gonna feel wrong.

Dude Ravens fans gonna be pissed if Harbaugh goes to Pittsburgh. :laugh3:
