Brother I was in the same situation. It just gets better and better and then.... It's over. :-(
yea , at six 30 minute episodes , it's not even like one average James Cameron movie................lol

I did have to tell a couple people to stick with it after the first two episodes as they start out a little slow

but by episode 3 we start to see a total tonal shift , episode 4 and 5 are peak television , and episode 6 was a nice little wrap up episode

and poof , it was over and now we wait for season 2

season one

10/10

Really enjoying this season of Monarch and the cast is still amazing. Making a small prediction here too.

Billy is running Apex

Starfleet Academy has been canceled

well kinda

just two weeks after the season final of season one , it's been officially announced Starfleet Academy has been canceled

but..........

they still have one more season to go , they basically filmed season one and two at the same time

but they're not even giving season two a chance , I'm sure it will still air sometime next year , but their not even giving it a chance , by announcing already that it's been canceled says alot

I knew before season one even started . I wasn't the target audience for this show , but I tried to give it a change

and yea , lets just say I wasn't the target audience .....................lol

I made it through the first three episodes , and thats all I could handle

not sure now , what the future of Star Trek holds

Strange New Worlds comes to a end after season five , and Starfleet Academy comes to a end after season two ,

alot is going on at Paramount right now

Paramount just merged with Skydance

Paramount just bought Warner Brothers

Paramount is going through alot of changes right now , and not sure how big of a priority Star Trek is right now , but right now it's kinda in limbo

It's a sad state of affairs for Star Trek at the moment. Glad we've got a couple seasons of SNW left and then there's going to be a void. I have not watched Academy yet. I probably will muster up the courage to try it one of these days. If Robert Picardo wasn't in it I'm not sure I'd even bother. I haven't read much about it that has made me think it's something I want to watch.

I had such hope after Picard season 3 and SNW taking hold. A continuation off Picard with 7 of 9's crew (Star Trek Legacy or whatever they'd call it) being explorers again would be so fucking good it infuriates me that Paramount has wasted their time on this other shit lately. It give them one of Trekkies favorite characters in command with a whole new crew including the offspring of Jean Luc Picard with the opportunity to have fan favorites guest star here and there from past shows. Such a wasted opportunity.

The only hope is they go through with the rumor that SNW will continue as a "year 1" show featuring the first adventures of the Enterprise with Kirk's crew. While I don't hate that idea because at least it would give us more Trek with characters I like it seems a bit gratuitous at that point to bleed into TOS timeframe.

Paramount is doing their best to destroy that franchise like they did Halo. I read they're starting the process on a Jonathon Archer series when he starts as the federation president. Even with Bacula starting I don't have much hope for it.

I wanna be a Star Trek Nerd

But man !!!

Paramount has really made it tough over the last 10 years or so
