If you like super tense police dramas: "Line of Duty". Produced by Brits / Irish, with incredible acting.
& surely you guys have seen the BBC produced "Sherlock", with Benedict Cumberbatch, if not, start streaming!
"Stranger Things" is a great watch, if only for the 80's flashbacks you'll have looking at the posters & decor on the kid's walls, very authentic. Super quirky sci-fi series.
"Humans" is another great Brit binger, a near-future "what-if" world of androids. VERY well acted.
Last but not least: "The Killing". Amercian produced detective drama, but very well acted. You will NOT be able to put the remote down.
Add "Future Man" to that list! Hilarious series on Hulu produced by Seth Rogan!

I got hooked into Designated Survivor - its basically 24 meets the West Wing.

Pretty good - but I can see the cheese starting to knock on the door.

I never saw 24, not even one show but watched all of West Wing I think and it was a really good show.

The first season of 24 was very much worth it. Very much. It’s a lot to handle - but it’s a fun ride.

I'll check it out online maybe.

This role is a real departure for Sutherland. He plays a pretty mild mannered guy and he even nails the body language.

It’s funny that way. In 24 he is the baddest of badasses. If anything, it’s the Achilles heel of the show - he is too bad ass. And in this show, he is too goody goody. He can’t help but make himself too perfect. Give your own character a flaw or two, man. It’s the flaws that make characters great!

Just finished watching The Haunting of Hill House. I'm not into horror movies but this was very good, more tense drama than horror. The main characters flash back and forth between children and adults so it's hard to tell them apart at first, but it's a very good series.

Coen Brothers have a new six part western series coming up here on Netflix

Comes out in November

The Coen brothers always start so strong. The first of the short stories is great - and each of them is somewhat compelling - albeit bizarre. Still, on the whole I give it a ‘meh’.

The first season was interesting, but buy the 3/4 Mark I got sick of it. Like you said, Kroger Sutherland's character is too goody goody. The underlying story was decent, the scrawny FBI agent sprinting in heels was ridiculous. The constant popping up of crisis was silly. It's like, "Oh golly gee what else can go wrong, I'll just use my moral standard and super nice personality to win the day and be non offensive while doing it. By the way I have a super hot wife who would never be with a dork like me in a million years"

It's such a farfetched leap from what the political world really is.

They do get bonus points for casting Italia Ricci though.

It's not a series... but you gotta watch

Bird Box

This movie was intense, but I didn't like the time leap. It was too convenient. The idea of being able to raise and nurse two babies to what I was assuming was age four was too much to not address. The ending was dumb, because it was too easy. When you realize the movie wasn't about the demons, but about Sandra Bullocks character and her emotional state, it seemed like they tried to be clever and disguise a chick flick by disguising it as a horror movie.

This movie was way overhyped.

On a sidenote: There is an acquaintance of mine that I'm Fakebook friends with. He always tries to be cutting edge so he stays relevant and popular. He sees Birdbox as soon as it comes out and immediately posts it on his timeline. ' So, I saw Birdbox, let me just say, wow. Discuss' All of his female friends were fantasized by the drama and intensity, but most of us were, meh. By the end of his post he was saying it sucked. I don't know why I'm friends with that dude. Obligated, I guess.

Supposedly, Bandersnatch is what Birdbox was supposed to be. Haven't seen it though.

District 9 - It's a movie, but still worth seeing if you've never seen it. I really like it. It's on Netflix now. I love the main character, the aliens, the Nigerians, the refugee camp. It's a really interesting reflection on our world.

I liked District 9. I thought it got rolling pretty good about 1/2 way through!

Also not a series but the two new documentaries (NetFlix and HULU) about the Fyre Festival are GREAT!

Nothing like watching spoiled Millenials whining when they get scammed by a pro.

Riveting stuff! Watch them.

Ugh. Bird Box was one of the most embarrassingly bad movies I have ever seen. Malcovich is awful. Plot was crap. Cringe worthy acting.....you name it. God I hated it, haha.

Check out Sisters Brothers if you can find it. Good ass movie. Never seen John C. Reilly in a serious role like that. Good stuff.

one of my faves! haha

I agree that Birdbox didn't live up to the hype.. wasn't terrible but it reminded me of The Happening which was absolutely awful so...

The Haunting of Hill House was amazing

Dexter and Breaking Bad are on there (classics)

we tried to get into Westworld.. couldn't do it. not sure what it is.

we just finished the first season of Ozark.. very good! would definitely recommend. Gonna start the second season and then not sure what we're gonna start after that to hold us over til GAME OF THRONES!!!
