I' take Campbell if I had to choose a coach from that division. His vision includes power on the lines, which I am a big fan of. He also seems to have good OL instincts thanks to his TE background.

I get that some fans hate what a meathead he is. But getting the most from a room of football players requires some big dog attitude.

I’m pretty sure he’s a monkey too

Not sure andy Reid would be on the list if mahomes was gone?
Is he one of the old "fat" coaches, riding the tails of a winning team, dodging retirement.

McVay, obviously Hands down in NFC West.
Ryans, Sirianni, Bowles & McDermott are layups.
Andy Reid has the toughest competition, but is the #1. Each the other 3 could be the #1 if they played in other divisions (other than NFC West Ofc)
I put Tomlin ahead of Harbaugh. Never had a losing season nor a legit QB since Roethlisberger. Harbaugh was handed a defense for the ages, and has done a good job recreating the team after Ray Lewis/Flacco/Ray Rice. But he hasnt won with a 2 time (could be 3) MVP
I put LaFleur ahead of Campbell, he's re-invented them from an offense first Aaron Rodgers team, to a strong D and seamlessly transitioned Jordan Love and went 2-0 with Malik Willis when it seemed the season was in doubt. Campbell may be the better coach but like @den-the-coach I need to see how things go without OC Johnson. Furthermore, the Lions did throw away a couple wins in his first 2 seasons over boneheaded decisions, so overall Im just not that sold. Hell of a roster to work with

KC was 2-14 before Reid arrived, and he preceded to go 53-27 in 5 seasons with Alex Smith at QB. He's not riding any coat tails

Why not? O 'Connell especially has done nothing close to Campbell. LaFleur has, with prime Aaron Rodgers. Accurate rating, IMHO.
I thought O'Connell did an outstanding job for Minnesota last season and it will be interesting as IMO, he now has a fine young signal caller with upside. Not a fan of "biting kneecaps." that's all. The Lions and Brad Holmes have done an outstanding job building that roster and I know the players love playing for him, but let us take a wait and see approach on how the offense performs under new OC John Morton now that Ben Johnson is in the Windy City.

Nothing close? He's had 2- 13+ win seasons with 2 different QB's, Campbell hasnt had to face that adversity yet. Campbell also choked away the NFC Champ game, blowing a 24-7 lead.

O'Connell was also impressive in '23 when Cousins went down, he kept them competitive with Dobbs who went down, and then won with Jaren Hall, who got hurt and Nick Mullens crapped out the rest of the way

I see people knocking some coaches because their GM had done well but not other coaches. Vikings, Packers and Bears for 2 years have had GMs for excellent work.

Campbell's been IN a Championship Game and earned a 1-seed and 2nd Round appearance. Many Home Playoff games as well. O 'Connell? 0-2 in Playoffs including a horrendous Home loss to the Daniel Jones Giants, followed by the lemon against us.

Is Sirianni really that good of a coach? I always felt that he’s the weakest link for that team.
Recency bias? Sirianni was about to be fired and then hired two new coordinators. Howie Roseman has his had so far up his a** that I don't know if he can shit without asking permission.

Still, he won the Superbowl so I think you have to go with him and no one else in that division is really compelling, maybe Quinn but seems like so much credit for that team should go to Kliff who really changed up a lot of what he was as a coordinator.

The hate for Dan Campbell on this forum is sorta wild to me. He is the ultimate players coach and extremely authentic.

I think he and Suriani get a lot of that around here it's true. Neither is likeable by opposing fans but you could put many other coaches in that group that are good. Hell does anybody think division rivals don't say the same about McVay?

How many playoff games did Campbell play in his 1st 2 seasons?

Even if he is the weak link who takes the #1 spot?
Schottenheimer, obviously.

When he lost his coordinators a few years ago the team wasn’t nearly as good. That makes it seem like it’s more about assistants than the head coach.

McVay loses assistants every year. He still impresses. Even in some of the seasons full of injury, he still impresses.

Back to Sirianni. I guess he doesn’t have much competition
