Marshall Faulk. Had his knees destroyed in Indianapolis and St. Louis. The 32nd and 31st worst playing surfaces. Would we be talking about Barry Sanders and Emmett Smith?

His career wasn’t cut short... but with HOF week, and thinking back...

Torry Holt seemed to go away suddenly. In 2007 at 31 he posted 1,189yds. Only played 2 more years, both 700yd seasons. Retired.

Didn’t feel like enough time to savor things.

Faulk was similar.... 3 amazing years, then injury bug hit and he wasn’t the same. He was done “suddenly “ it felt like.

I’m to young to have known or watched him but even I know the answer to this one is Gayle Sayers.

This is the first guy I thought of whose career was cut short. Biggest name who could've (yeah coulda shoulda woulda and if) played longer in top form. Was never really the same player after the injury. Great Football Life story with him and Butkus.

Also like kurtfaulk mentioned Marcus DuPree was so amazing before that devastating freak USFL injury. Wow, talk about a wrong turn off the Generational Talent Freeway into the Slums of Obscurity. Another great Football Life story. I also read his book several years ago.

Terrell Davis. While I believe he had a good career, it was very short. I think he only had 4 good seasons, and that is why he should have never been elected to the Hall. JMHO of course.

Marcus Dupree was injured in college and gave it a try with the Rams. He could’ve been a beast

You guys beat me to Greg Cook, Bill Walsh called him the best he had worked with. Look at his numbers from a time where if you had as many TDs as Ints, you were in the probowl and he had modern efficiency as a rookie.

UM homer so I'll say No 1a and Taylor 1b, not to be biased .

Greg Cooks should get a honorable mention and a ton of RBs.
I fudged again lol.

Bo 1a, freaking auto correct.
