I wish we had a hat cam for referees so we could see what they saw. I think a lot of missed calls would have been missed in real time by the average viewer.

Absolutely intentional. That wasn't my point. If you can intentionally foul without getting caught, it's a skill. Look at all the stuff going on with DB's and WR's, they are trying to get every advantage they can without getting flagged.
I get it. Michael Thomas on the Saints pushes off regularly. I've never seen a facemask grabbed and yanked. How do refs not see such an obvious foul? Push offs can be difficult to see and are , as you said, skillfully performed. Higgins yank on the facemask was right out in the open foe the world to see.

In the Mic’d Up replay, you can hear McVay consoling Ramsey saying “everybody saw that!”

There is a skill to committing a foul in a way that is hard to detect. Offensive linemen hold almost every play, but are only flagged when it is obvious. The Higgins hold on Ramsey looked obvious to us (shot from above and run back in slow motion) but we didn't have the referee's perspective. So Higgins play was good. He got away with a foul and scored. End of story.
The good news is, rams don't have asshole face whining to the refs the rest of the game instead of coaching. Mcvay told Ramsey that everyone saw it, now let's move on. Next play is all that matters.

I know this has been written a hundred times before, but asshole face could have run the ball three times, let the clock run down, and then kick a field goal to win the game. But noooooo.. he had to pass, to prove to everyone how smart he was, and it backfired. AND... they still had time to win the game, but they could not pull it out. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

All the receiver did was try to keep Ramsey from intercepting. He was desperate and grabbed what ever was there. It was a move of desperation and he probably couldn't believe it wasn't called. No skill involved.

I generally agree but ... come-on. Payton was a quality Head Coach.

Show a little respect in future posts. Mr. Asshole Face.

Unless you saw it from the ref's perspective, you really don't know whether it was a bad non-call. I thought the same about the non-PI call against the Saints in 2018. From the referee's angle, in real time, it could have like a bang-bang play. It was a missed foul, but there are dozens of missed fouls in every game.

If a player believes they can commit a foul b/c the ref is out of position to call and they get away with it, that's a skill. Maybe that happened here, maybe it was just luck for Higgins.

Everyone knows that counting cards in casino blackjack is illegal, but we also know that counting cards without being caught is a valuable skill.

Yeah I get it. However, when receivers make a move to intentionally interfere it is most often much more subtle.

If the refs didn’t see it then they couldn’t have been looking at Higgins and Ramsey for s split second. I don’t know what else they could have been looking at since that was where the ball was going. Also Ramsey was locked into the ball and suddenly his head turns toward the turf. That’s not normal.

And if you look at the replay, there is one ref who had a clear shot at looking at the PI but his assignment was on the other side of the field. But you can see in the replay, he was looking at the play.

But for some reason, he didn't want to overrule the ref who was out of position

I am posting a screen shot of what I am talking about and no one can tell me that this ref could not clearly see Ramsey's facemask being tugged. As someone else stated already - worst SB non-call ever.

In the Saints game, it should have been called. Concerning the officiating mechanics, the short route should have been the responsibility of the head lines person. The HL has the responsibility to release and trail the play once a pass is diagnosed. Last player out of the backfield, that's your responsibility HL, and he was late.

If you notice the field judge has to look up at the last second and just catches enough to rule incomplete because he's watching the other 2 receivers and riff raff in the end zone on his side.

The telecaster then says, the two officials are talking it over. I imagine the FJ said WTF bro, that was your assignment and now we're both going to look bad cause I can't call what I can't see.

I’ll take that missed call all day. It balanced out the poor calls that refs missed against the Rams and the negligence by the refs to stop the crowd from blowing whistles. That game could have been forfeited to the Rams as far as I’m concerned.

There was an Aints fan website prescribing an app for their phones that would blast a loud tone (a foghorn, IIRC). Nice to have when the vocal cords give out. Classless is as classless does.

Like I said they would have been blown out if not for that play. They couldn't beat a Rams team with a 3rd string TE, a 3rd string WR. and one of the 2 starting WRs playing hurt. They couldn't run the ball the entire offense was down to Stafford and Kupp and the fucking Bengals still lost. Those who think the Bengals will repeat are delusional. They were lucky to get that far. It was obvious that had the Rams been at full strength it would have been a complete blowout and over by halftime. But that part of the narrative is the part the Bengals and their fans completely ignored. That penalty was the only reason they were in the game. Without it they lose by 10 to a Rams team playing with one arm tied behind their back.

No, the next Super Bowl will be a round two of the opener. IMO it will be Rams vs Bills in the Super Bowl.

Each time I re-watch the game I am more amazed at the countless number of holds that went uncalled on the Bengals secondary.

If it moved, they grabbed it.
