damn booze affects my memory some times, or the lead paint chips(the red ones are tasty) but hasn't Reynolds committed some other boneheaded penalties on ST this year.

Although I will say he has made some good plays while on the field also

IMO, there's nothing really wrong with the sentiments expressed in this thread if you take out the name calling. Emotions of many of us are running pretty high after another game we just threw away. Should probably have been in the vent thread though.

I agree that he's immature (and that was his wrap coming in), but I don't think it's necessary to call any Ram a moron, or an idiot, or to call out other fans (posters) who happen to have faith in him as a player. . If that becomes acceptable then there are about 4 or 5 others I'd like to throw into the mix right about now.
Point taken. It was in bad taste to call out other posters to make a point I have ,maintained about Armstrong since last year. Didn't call him any names, just described his "look at me" attitude, and how it usually comes back to hurt this team. They have a LB on the Practice Squad in Denicos Allen who I am pretty sure can do the same things Armstrong can do on Special Teams without the selfish play.

"Fisher said next time Rams player gets a stupid penalty such as Ray Ray Armstrong's unnecessary roughness call, he's sending them off field"

Pretty much what the title of this thread says yes?
Yes. What it didn't say was:

"Fisher said the next time some moron gets a stupid penalty such as that idiot Ray Ray Armstrong's unnecessary roughness call, he's sending them off the field."

True but that was just an extension of my earlier thread where I specifically commented on the inappropriateness of the name calling.

I know. I was reiterating your reiteration.

This is turning into a thread on sensitivity training, wow...

I hope Fisher stays true to his word. He's let the penalties go on and on for three straight season now. Time to reign it in.

I think that it would go along way to stop this garbage if Fisher would cut Ray Ray the poster child of stupid penalties. There is no excuse to be that out of control on nearly every play of every game that he is in.
Fisher is losing my faith in his coaching ability.

I was one of the captains of the Ray Ray Armstrong train. He showed so little this year in the preseason in the base defense, that I'm ready to pump the brakes.

I still think the natural talent is there - and maybe he just needs more time, but he seems like more of a liability than an asset right now.

Chase Reynolds has not been much of a ST Ace himself. I can't blame him for the punt block - that one is on the coaching staff - but that was an awful penalty and lets not forget week one's running into the kicker penalty which turned a 4th and short into a 1st and 10.

In the end - its on the staff more than anything.

Wow. What a crappy thread.

freak all of that noise. Whatever you may think about Ray Ray, or the posters who are/were behind him, this is all garbage.

I'm sure Demoff, Youngblood, Hekker, and Joe Barks LOVE this site right about now.

I'd bet they feel the same way right about now.

Both Ray Ray and Chase should have been cut when the roster was finalized in August. They will never amount to anything other than an average special teams player, and are currently holding roster spots that could be used to develop players for depth. This is a case of Fisher's loyalty to these two players thinking they can make an NFL career. If it were me, they would be released on Monday regardless of the impact. They can't be affecting our cap space by much of anything.

Ray Ray and Chase are both important players for our special teams units. Don't underestimate the importance of special teams.

The stupidity of both those penalties is mind boggling.
Both players have a role but someone may have to get cut to make the point.

While you're right about name calling, I doubt players like Hekker and JB would disagree with the sentiment in this thread. After all, it's their season these other "challenged" players are screwing up. I doubt they'd be mad at our site for calling a spade a spade.

I don't under estimate any part of the game.

Yes this thread had an inertia of name calling that was becoming a feeding frenzy,I agree as a whole this site isn't the place for that, but it's hard for me to think that some of the luminaries you mention might not have had some similar thoughts about the propensity for at least one of these guys to turn advantage into disadvantage at the worst possible moment and the lack of awareness /selfishness it requires to do that.

Our HC is so exorcised about it NOW that he's talking about benching and I'm happy he's decided to draw a line ,I think it's a little overdue.

You're right to intervene here X, someone has to , would that someone on our coaching staff was as vigilant as you , we'd accumulated too many of these penalties before yesterday, IMO Ray has hit critical mass ,maybe he can be salvaged yet , but potential is turning into not just a coach killer but a team killer as well, and it's those guys team as well as ours getting killed over it.
I also agree with jrry we don't cut the guy , but a few flights up the steps at the Ed or some intervention to smarten the guy up a little could be beneficial right now
