Are they actually doing it? Is there a point, like they're planning on trying to make it inhabitable or they're going to study things, or is it just "hey, hang out here forever. Oh and don't have kids and don't go crazy."

This just reeks of disaster. What are they going to do if someone gets sick, get's cancer, breaks a leg? This is assuming of course that they could actually feed, clothe, and shelter themselves for the rest of their lives. There is so much that could go wrong, and as blue pointed out, there isn't really a reason they're doing it, other than to do it.

Wait, could some of Congress go? I mean they govern like they are on Mars already. Send 4 every two years? Ok, it would take about a century to get them all up there but hey, better late than never!!!!
