There's a place in London that does beautiful latkes. I go there every time I fancy a Reubens sandwich.
go there for the latkes or the Ruebens ?

Christmas tamales, there seemed to never be enough for everyone. I always wanted more than my mom would allow so everyone could have some. I never asked her why she didn't just make more.

My wife is Jewish and introduced me to these treats soon after we met. They are latkes... but we also call them potato pancakes.

My favorite part of eating them is that most folks dip them in apple sauce and sour cream. I prefer just the sour cream... and my wife prefers the apple sauce.

They should be illegal.
You can’t go wrong with those choices. It’s vice versa with me and Mrs Faulk.

I’m spoiled latkes from my side and Christmas tamales from the wife’s side. And pozole with the hooves and tripa from Mrs Faulk’s family.

If we’re talking food that we didn’t want to share, my “godmother” Rosemary worked with my dad for years and made the best savory and mouth salivating sweet potato pie. It’s why I always looked forward to Thanksgiving.

Faulk Sr now makes it for Thanksgiving every year and we have two pies so that we have leftovers.

My mom would make English Pasties and jam tarts for the holidays. My two older brothers and I knew from years of smacked hands and scoldings one pastie and two tarts per meal.

Since she passed away in 2012 I'm the son who makes both of these. My older brother lives near me. When I bring food for the holiday get togethers he gets separate servings. When my brother visits from Fort Lauderdale I make him some. Now my 19 year old son is hooked on them.
