Here in my province we have 5, but no where does it say they have to be paid sick days. Which of course just incentivizes people to go to work sick....
California calls them PTO days. Paid Time Off. The hours must be accrued via work hours. Much of the state gets 3, but some cities (such as LA) mandate 6 days.

And I would say yes. I wouldn’t see that as grounds for termination especially if I was a stellar employee in the first place.(y)

Lol if you got fired for taking the occasional sick day I'd say slashing your bosses tires would be in order.

There's no paid days off mandated here. We do have mandated vacation time obviously that is paid but nothing directly related to sick days. That said, a lot of places have them and if you can get a government (federal or provincal) job you're all set. The dream here is to get in with the government and then coast to a nice pension :D

The only one who could prevent me from watching was my wife. If its a Rams playoff game she ain't gonna win. Its not an option to even think about making me do something different that day. She learned that early on. Now she just makes a party of it. (y)

My wife's the same with me. Rams, Dodgers, Lakers, Kings in the playoffs. She knows, and never gets pissy cuz I'm not glued to the TV during the regular season (unless it's against a Norcal team or divisional game).

And I give her no crap for her Asian soap operas or romantic comedies (I even preload on the karma by watching the stuff with her if I know there'll be a string of big games coming up.) A good understanding we got

SiriusXM Channel 468 is streaming Rams game. I think they have a current promo at $5 per month going on right now.

I have to go into work about halfway through when the 3rd quarter should be, so I'll have to listen to the end on the radio.

Yeah the throwing up or diarhea stuff (stomach flu is what I call it) are good reasons to skip a day at work. These days even if you think you have flu symptoms... heck my coworkers rather see me skip a day rather than make them sick. So that stuff would work for me sick or not (I rarely if ever call in though). The thing is to not use it unless you really have to. If you're one of those who calls in sick a lot, then do it again to watch a game, it becomes a nuisance and the dependability factor becomes low. I don't have to call in sick for Ram games, but I do get stressed out when they play weekday 5pm games because even though work is low stress and I don't have to stay late, something on those days always seems to happen! And then traffic which is usually ok becomes stressful. I hate having to rush home.

The 1910's were a rough decade for labor laws.

Feel like people take labour laws for granted. I always said it should be taught in schools alongside any other social sciences/life prep stuff. Teach people what they're entitled to by law in school so they're better prepared.

Radio.net app carries WFAN radio here in the NYC area, and they've been advertising that the games can be heard o there.
I use the app on my iphone when I go for runs and the quality is excellent.
(Of the broadcast, the quality of WFAN maybe not so much)

Have you thought about recording it, asking your colleagues to keep the game to themselves and watch it when you get home? If that's an option turn your texting off so someone doesn't spoil it for you.

I would either try explosive diarrhea first or just do this. Youre of course going to have that one coworker who likes to give you shit and mess with you while its on, but just lay a buck knife across your desk/work area and everyone will get the hint. I also go the extra step of having the family leave the room/house when i get home. That way i cant mindfuck myself into reading their emotions when i get home considering they know the outcome.

Good luck brother.

Don’t feel bad...I can’t watch either....I tried to explain to my boss how long I’ve been waiting for the rams to be in a game like this ....he explained the rank structure to me and made me do push-ups until he was tired...turns out the army doesn’t give a fuck

Should have joined the Air Force. We would have a party and stop everything to watch a game like this.

Hell, most human resource people don't know the damn laws much less the people who actually work for a living. I don't know how many times I've had to tell people who are "exempt" (salaried) employees' that the company cannot charge you 1 hour of sick leave to go the doctor.

Why couldn’t our game be the late game? I work the weekends, and they prohibited the use of iPads while working. So no reddit, but we can listen to the radio???? :wtf:
The problem being its a suck ass radio with a horrible antenna. I have a couple radio apps, but they don’t broadcast the games on the internet??? If I can’t figure this out, I’m hiding my iPad near the radio and tuning in to reddit anyhow, joke em if they can’t take a freak!

Is there a way to listen to the game on the internet without getting DNA rifle blocked?

Seriously, @LoyalRam, do you not have "sick" time?

No, ithe job only allows unpaid absenc..and they are seriously short handed right now, so I am working 12 hour days on Saturday and Sunday, besides that. The boss has been trying to hire others, but some have failed the security background check at the last moment. In my little town, I am limited by the options available, and the job allows me to read collegerequired texts during work, which I appreciate.
