Honestly, I think Miami competes with the Jets for the bottom of the AFC East. Tua, while he belongs in the NFL, has not proven he's the starter yet. I hate to admit it, but New England looks like a better team than Miami.

Agree with the AFC South, although Jacksonville could surprise if Lawrence and Robinson/Etienne get a good O-line.

If Watson doesn't play, I think the Browns have a losing season and finish last. Other than that, I agree with the Bengals being the best of the North.

Disagree entirely on the Broncos being the worst of the AFC West and K.C. being the best; K.C. has lost not only Hill, but Frank Clark as well. That's not only your best receiver, but the best pass rusher as well. The Chargers will win the division, but I think the Broncos get second place and a playoff spot; you can hate Wilson, but he's still the best quarterback the Broncos have had in years, and he'll prove it with an amazing supporting cast and defense. K.C. and the Las Vegas Raiders (yes, they're in L.V., not Oakland) will compete for the last playoff spot.

Philly lacks the quarterback and wide receivers to take the top spot in the NFC East. They're a rebuilding team, even if they deny it. Call me crazy, but I think Sam Howell ends up starting for the Commodes and dominates; he had absolutely no supporting cast in his last year at North Carolina (he led the team in rushing yards because there was no good running back, and his wide receiving corps was poor) and was my favorite quarterback in this class, one I thought could be a first round pick. With McLaurin and Dotson, Howell could actually have a great year. Do they take Dallas' place? Nope, but they're definitely a sleeper pick to win with a dominant defensive line - and honestly, defense as a whole - and a good quarterback. I'd go with Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia, and New York Giants.

I believe that New Orleans isn't as good as people think; I'd put Carolina above them, even with the quarterback situation; it's not like NO has a good quarterback anyway, and their head coach sucks as a head coach. Carolina's defense is amazing as well, so I wouldn't hesitate to put them at the top of the NFC South.

As for the NFC North, I think the Lions are another sleeper pick; I think they get into the playoffs this year over Minnesota; not that Minny's bad, but I like the Lions' supporting cast and defense more. Otherwise, I agree (although I think Green Bay falters with their lack of receivers).

Agree with the NFC West.

Going to disagree as New England is paying WR's good money for no production. Mac Jones will struggle this year IMHO and the Dolphins with their playmakers alone should be above the Patriots. In fact, I'm predicting a huge sit down after the season is over in New England, where Robert Kraft will ask Belichick to bring in an executive to oversee the draft having Belichick to focus on just coaching.

Coaches that will be fired if this comes to fruition.
  1. Matt Rhule Carolina Panthers....He will head back to a mid major college program
  2. Kliff Kingsbury Arizona Cardinals...Barring injuries, they will go in another direction.
  3. Mike McCarthy Dallas Cowboys...This one is easy as Payton, Sean will be the next HC in Dallas.
  4. Lovie Smith Houston Texans...They will hire Josh McCown like they wanted to do this year.
  5. Pete Carroll Seattle Seahawks...Time to put Petey out to Pasture.
  6. Matt Eberflus Chicago Bears...If the Beats actually go 2-15 I am predicting they will fire Eberflus after one year and hire Jim Harbaugh rescuing him from his recruiting woes at Michigan.

They still have DeVante Parker (from Miami), Nelson Agholor, and a bunch of other receivers and two solid tight ends (Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith). And Belicheat has always had a great defense; that, I can't deny.

But I am hoping they crash and burn and sophomore QBs sometimes suck. So here is to hoping :cheers2:

Oh, believe me, I hope they trade their first round pick to us for a future seventh and they go 0-17. But if wishes were fish, there'd be no room in the oceans for water.

But there are reasonable wishes and then wishes that people pull from their ass.

My wish is somewhere between reasonable and pulling from my ass

Just watched the GMFB vid embedded on this alternate helmet story and at the 7:10 mark they talk about how 16 straight Super Bowl losing QBs have not returned to the big game. It's a rather heinous list and maybe one of the names on it, Ryan, will make it back with the Colts in the next year or two but still just wow.

And it is particularly interesting re: the Bengals, who look so loaded. If there was ever a team that I'd expect to return to that game after losing it, well, it would look like that roster. But I have to admit after seeing their fan base become jackasses in year one of this new era it would be enjoyable to watch Burrow end up being average and not return. I just don't think that's likely. I cannot imagine them not winning that division. Anyway it's a good conversation on that episode of GMFB.

Avenger,
I would be interested in hearing your rationale for putting Denver in last place in the AFC West.
Thanks,

I said it in another thread, the Rams probably go 13-4 and win the SB over the Bills.

I think SF will be tougher than many on this board think. The dual threat of Lance is real. They will have to play him like they play Kyler but Lance is tougher and not likely to fold up under pressure. I think AZ is in a bad place. If they give Kyler his contract any motivation to improve is gone. They are paying top dollar for a limited QB. They should have traded him., taken their bumps this year and be in a position to grab a QB next year. If they don't pay him he will sulk all season like the pouty kid he is.

NFCW: Rams, SF, AZ and Seattle in that order.

I think Russell Wilson’s play has deteriorated more than has been acknowledged and, given how tough their division schedule is, I think they will struggle.

I'm gonna predict Kyler Murray will have his very own nanny so he doesn't violate the terms of his contract.

I just don't see how they're going to manage his time studying. It's great to have a fallback so they can try to get out of the contract, but it's hard to imagine how that works. Some combination of software and coaches being engaged I'm sure but still sounds hard to pull off.
