Good for him. I look forward to him showing he's better than Johnny Football, at the very least.

If Davis ends up with Browns, hope he does well. Didn't work out in STL but always appreciated what a stand up guy he was after rough games.

Davis Threw only 5 passes in preseason for Rams; really wasn't given a chance to make roster in camp.

As much as I bash the Rams' depth, Austin Davis never had a chance at being one of their top three QBs but could easily start in Cleveland.

I send a farewell salute to Davis. After seeing Bulger, Bradford 3 times and Clemens lose in person it was Davis that got me my first in person win last year in Tampa. Wish him the best of luck.

He's easily the second best QB on the team right now, if there's anywhere he can make it, it's in Cleveland.

So are we going to have as many Davis threads now as we have Bradford threads? :p

Best of luck to him.
Second best QB in Clevland already.
Too bad he didn't go to the Bills, He'd probably be starting.

Glad he's on a roster. Browns probably aren't that desperate to start him, but this could be a good opportunity for him. McCown isn't anything special and Johnny is a complete unknown at this point. He could stick around and have a good shot a sticking there as a back-up for awhile.

Really, Jim?

Hello? They have SEASONS worth of film and experience with Davis. They did not need to see a single pass attempt in preseason to make this evaluation.

:palm:

That's out of the way... Good luck AD. I loved your heart out there.

Jim was right though. I think the only way Davis was making the team is if Keenum got hurt or sucked real bad. By the way they approached the competition Davis was more of an insurance policy than anything. I don't fault the Rams, but it wasn't really much of a competition for that second spot.

They knew what they had in AD. The goal from the start of the offseason was to find someone to supplant him as #2, if they could.

His 1.5M contract doomed him I believe. They liked Keenum better especially at a million dollars in savings. So they did not want to take a chance of getting Davis hurt and having to eat his salary, thus he saw limited preseason action.
