Was it just me or was Rivers in with the 1st team for a few snaps today?
He did get some runs with the 1s. Rivers looks to have great contact balance,I don't recall seeing him hit the ground one all week. He would pop out of the scrum and run up the field

Also, I started laughing, not sure if you caught it but Donald was in on some FG blocking...

I'm just gonna add to @RamBall's report as there's not much more I can contribute than what he's shared and what some others have about today.

- Rivers looked to get a lot of snaps at RB today with some snaps with the 1s I think.
- No room for the running backs today as the defense seemed to keep them bottled up, Kyren seemed to get a lot of work running routes out of the backfield, caught a nice swing pass for a decent gain.
- Ernest Brown looks large, started next to Donald today.
- Tutu looks noticeably bigger and Puka was much larger than I anticipated.
- Tutu looks like he's gonna play a lot and used at multiple WR spots but Puka is gonna steal some reps.
- Jefferson could have a good year if the health problems he had last year were a blip, had a nice catch wide open in the middle of the field.
- Dare I say... Hopkins looks good? He looked good today catching the ball and Jourdan said he's had a good camp. Like I said, I wonder if who the Rams keep at TE will surprise some people.
- But no one's sleeping on Higbee, guy does it all on the field. Shame he gets dinged up a lot and I do wonder what things would be like if McVay looked to feature him more in the passing game. Looked good today.
- Lake making plays, I think he's gonna offer a lot more than what Rapp did in the dime backer role.
- Xavier getting decent amount of work on punts, had a good return.

Nice Solid report. Those added thoughts really just Justify’s some of our (my) thoughts.

It shows you know The Rams & are very observant.I go around camp in the crowd & starting out loud about what’s what. There’s a lot of knowledgeable Ram(NFL) Fans.

Thanks

BTW - did Hopkins have another TD? Talk about Higbee & training camp.
Brycen is bringing all that & will be a core special teams player.
—It just FINALLY hit me.BRYCEN HOPKINS is having FUN PLAYING FOOTBALL!! What a difference that makes in a player. The light came on & he is ENJOYING IT!!

WOW - you won’t see him in the preseason. No WAY!!

He’s always been an excellent pass catcher. I want to see how he blocks before I’m ready to re-sign him; I think Brock Bowers could transform this offense.

I would have SOME love (well he is a gd 69er) for Kittle if he didn’t overdo the clown act. Youre high energy guy and you want to eventually be a pro wrestler on the county fair circuit. We get it but it gets real irritating especially as youre kicking out ass!
You hit the nail on the head with the WWE stuff. I think it's his persona and someway of an act at times. But like you said, it sucks when he's whooping our asses lol

Looks like the end of 11on11, FG practice now. From what I can see snaps have been good, it may just be punts where the snaps are worrisome
How did Tanner Brown do on the FG's?

Sad to hear nothing coming of Zach Evans. Only thing I've heard was he had a fumble (which was his Achilles heel in college). Seems like he's at the bottom of the rb list and will prob not make it.

I've been a little picky with his pass catching as he didn't seem to look the ball in, in the past. but that wasn't an issue yesterday. Couldn't really tell how his blocking looked yesterday which has definitely left something to be desire...

Kept my eyes on AJ most of the day who took care of Young the entire practice... but not sure that tells us anything about either of those two.

I think Puka is going to do damage in sets where they really spread the field. He's going to break initial tackle attempts to get some big gains, like Kupp. He's a bigger guy.. not big, just not small.. and has great balance and ability to run through contact from what I saw of his college stuff.

YAC.

So if the run game was stuffed yesterday just curious if Akers sizing up is helping him gain a few yards after contact or if its not making a difference at all? Know its too early for sau an overall judgement there, but just curious.

Really difficult to tell with the defense just wrapping up in practice. There were some 3 yard gains it looked like but hard to tell if they would have gone for more.

The sense I got was that the O line still needs a bunch of time to together and the D is super young and gonna have a lot of bumps and bruises along the way. I really don't know about our pass rush...

Thanks for that feedback. Definitely hope that added bulk allows Akers to grind for more yards without any loss of speed and elusiveness.

Actually always felt like that was a solid part of his game already... wonder if the thought of having more mass was about injuries?

That definitely could be a reasom, but I'm expecting the added bulk to allow him to wear defenses down late in the game if needed and also aid him in breaking more tackles. If any of our RBs can consistently break tackles, that's a huge plus.

How did Tanner Brown do on the FG's?
He missed a few on Tuesday, I didnt see him kicking on Thursday and yesterday I think he made the 3 or 4 that he attempted. I didnt watch him in drills on Tuesday or Thursday and I dont think he did any kicking except at end of 11 on 11 yesterday. One thing @VeteranRamFan noticed was how short his follow through is, his right foot doesnt come very far off the ground, it looks like a half swing of the leg.

Hard to tell from practice, Akers and Williams stopped and got back to the huddle after the whistle, but Rivers consistently ran another 10 or more yards after the whistle. Akers and Williams also looked to be seeking contact on every run. At least I hope they were seeking contact and not missing the open field in front of them.
