I mean the money is what it is....just remember what the Jags paid Kirk a few years ago. Whether we like it or not, this was Atwell's market for sure.

The part I am confused by is that IMO Atwell could have helped us LAST year. Our offense was fucking stagnant due to a lack of speed. So I just assumed his inability to block or something off the field had him in McVay's dog house. This seems to indicate otherwise....so I am very, very, very confused.

I'm not disappointed that Tutu is returning. IMO, in his limited play, he produced and came up big at times. AND, he played very good against the whiners. That cannot be understated. If they use him to stretch the defense and in the right alignments, Tutu can kill defenses with a go pattern. IMO of course.

1. Tutu knows the system.
2. Tutu has proven himself when called upon, especially in clutch moments.
3. The WR market is dry. Both free agency and draft unless you want to spend a ton money or package a ton of picks.

If the Rams can get an impact TE in the draft then they will be fine on offense.

I still expect a top FA CB signing.

Great were justifying this because other teams signed bad free agent deals

Well his yards per route were really good - he did some good things. I think he is worth that amount.

But only if we actually play him - so I would only be justifying if we keep him on the field.

Tutu has good hands, runs good routes and makes plays when called upon. Based on his talent, it's with it.

Based on previous usage, he wasn't.

But I remember reading McVay or Snead said they tend to pay for future play not past.

This tells me he's going to be included a lot more.

I think many here forgot just how clutch Tutu was while Kupp was injured the first part of the 2023 season, which is the only time McVay has used him regularly.

I think Puka and Whittington are the 1-2, so to speak.
But, Rams run a ton of 3 WR sets.....and there are situational reps too. Like Tyler Johnson replacing Puka or Kupp in certain redzone sets.
Unfortunately I think that offense would make us a wildcard team at best.

There is no way McVay cannot use Tutu every game now.
Yes, I like this. He is forced to use him more. IMO, Atwell's 15-18 yard out route is uncoverable. When he ran this route last season, the CB's get driven so far up field that they can't breakdown and recover fast enough when Atwell lowers his hips, puts on the breaks and makes his cut. And, this is in addition to the separation he creates on crossing routes.
I think this signing has to do with McVay saying he wants to diversify the offense. Looks like Atwell is going to be one of the options in that plan,

Granted, I don't hate the guy, but McVay doesn't seem to want to use him so I'd rather replace him let him go where he would be used.
First, this is not directed at you but at everyone who says that McVay doesn't use him and probably won't.
So, you don't think McVay and Snead had a long discussion regarding this before they negotiated the deal?
I think it would be obvious that Snead said that we're not spending 10 million on a guy who's only in on 22 snaps per game

Yeah he was great there, and good hands even when contested on these.

TUTU IS AN AMAZING BLOCKER AND RED ZONE TARGET PLUS HAS ELITE SPEED AND GOOD HANDS TOO SO HE IS BETTER THAN DROB AND KUPP.

A solid group to pick from:
Murphy, Samuel for playmaking ability. I like Jaire Alexander.
Get Witherspoon signed as well.

Gilmore is old but can still play as we saw in the playoff game vs us.
Davis, Ward, Reed are competent.
Need to vet scheme fit though.

Put me in the glad he’s back camp.

WR would have been too big of a priority without him as they build the roster.
