Ridiculous. Imagine what Rodgers will get. I just think these contracts are getting completely insane. And the Patriots get away with paying Brady fucking peanuts.

And Brady is making $14 million this year. You can't tell me there isn't anything shady as hell going on up there.
Patriot fan,
" Derrrrrrrrr what ever do you mean? every team cheats"

It's been only sparingly reported on but Brady has a lot of ownership in entities that do business with the Patriots and Patriots players. One such entity is the Gurerro (sp?) training company that famously is on the outs with Bilicheck. The source of tension between Bill and Brady may go beyond his trainer no longer being closely around but that his trainer has less access to players and therefore Brady has less money flowing into his pocket-book.

while that is likely, hes also over 40 and has won 5 super bowls and been to 8. between his annual salary for all those years, plus all the endorsements for being so good and making/winning so many super bowls, im sure hes made way more money than a lot of these other qbs that keep setting the highest contract mark. not to mention his wife makes way more than him each year. dont think money is a huge concern in that household

Your response while likely doesn't change anything. He's continually under paid for NFL QB's and there's something dirty about how they've done it for so long.

I keep wondering how much owners can keep shelling out without hitting a wall. Ryan getting 30 mil for 16 games? That's almost 2 mil a game. What will Goff's agent demand when his contract is due?

Matt Ryan - QB - Falcons
Falcons signed QB Matt Ryan to a six-year, $169.25 million contract through 2023.

That's $28.2 million per year, but it's $30 million per year during the extension seasons. That's a threshold that had previously never been crossed in the NFL, and rarely even in other North American sports. It will soon become routine for quarterbacks. Ryan produced as many turnovers as touchdowns in 2015 before his stunning MVP campaign in 2016. He was somewhere in between in 2017. Two weeks shy of his 33rd birthday, Ryan should still have multiple years left of potential elite play. Emphasis on "potential." Ryan sometimes needs to be elevated instead of doing the elevating himself. He has a new No. 2 receiver for 2018 in first-rounder Calvin Ridley.

.

Sure sign he gets hurts early next year. Don’t draft him in fantasy next year.

His wife makes the money, he doesn't give a crap, he just wants to keep talent around him.
Speculative at best, Russel Wilson’s wife is wealthier than him but you don’t see a $14 million salary any years of his contract.

I haven’t looked at this very closely... obviously all players are making more money every year... but does it feel to anyone else the range for top end guys seems to be pacing at a rate different than before creating more of a “have vs have not” tier of players?

Maybe it’s the same, but it sure doesn’t feel like it.

That’s a LOT of money per season... for ONE player. With so much going to Ryan, the rest of that roster will have to make due with a lot less.

This is what scares me about carrying a Donald and Goff contract. Cheerleaders may have to fill out the depth levels of our roster in future years... let alone squeeze in Cooks, Peters, Joyner, etc.

What we’ll likely see imo is WR’s and RB’s in their second contracts start to make less money. It’s similar to what is happening with LeVeon Bell to me. The Steelers see a couple more years of window with Ben and seem reluctant to sign Bell to a long term deal. If I had to guess who’s next I’d say Julio Jones. Atlanta just gave Ryan that money and drafted abWR in the first round. His contract is up in 2020 but the dead money is gone the year before.

What? You don't think paying $150 each for 60K Brady bobbleheads from Brady Inc on Brady appreciation day isn't above board?

TB12 has repeatedly restructured his contracts to make them more team friendly
