Really looking forward to seeing what this big guy brings to this defense and how it helps AD. The biggest impact will be the run game but I'm hoping he is able to eat up enough space to free up AD a bit more in passing game like Suh used to. Hopefully we won't have any new injuries and that Seattle game will have us almost at full strength again with return of Fuller. Obo probably a bit farther than that.
He was never "injured". It was more of a hear condition that from what I gathered, made him more susceptible to the Covid19 virus. I believe he went on some kind of medication therapy to address it. But how long for him to get into playing shape and up to speed with the Defensive scheme is anyone's guess

That's huge (pun not intended). Should beef up our run defense (pun still not intended).

Probably not getting the offer from the rams he was hoping to get. This is one way for him to show his frustration I guess.
He’s a captain. Needs to maintain his leadership and Still gotta play his ass off. It’s a contract year!!

Great news! In my honest opinion, you cut Patrick again. Robinson should fill a huge hole in the middle. Our run defense isn't bad with Brockers, Gaines, and Joseph-Day, but with Robinson in the middle, it could be elite.

Possibly, but it worked with Suh because he was a pass rush threat. Robinson hasn't been as good in rushing the passer, but maybe he comes on this year.

I’m sure this will show Rams management his frustration.
I think I remember when Jack Youngblood canceled his Hollywood video membership to get a new contact.

In fact the Rams have been showing a little bit of Gaines at NT and SJD at 5T
They did this a bit last year too. They also occasionally had SJD out at 5T in 6-1 fronts. I'd like to see Robinson, SJD, and Brockers against shorter QBs like Wilson and Murray.

I wonder how this will affect the DLine rotation.

I agree it’s a pretty dumb way of showing it but it is what it is lol

I think we are shopping him right now before the trade deadline, that makes much more sense to me. We were never going to sign him to a long term deal after our last draft.

Wouldn't be surprised to see JJ, Everett, or Reynolds (especially after a few nice games) get moved before the deadline.

But anyways I'm excited to see this D with Robinson and Fuller back :helmet:

JJ has done a great job so far this year but he has been a bit contact-shy at times which is probably him thinking survival to the offseason. But maybe the way Rapp played last Sunday (he was quite good and i'm 2/3 way through-ish) that might be enough for them to take an offer or whatever.

I'm sure they had a standing offer for him from a team or two. The guy can do it all.

I've liked the Robinson signing from the first and said so. He would be a clear upgrade in the middle be it 0T - 3T over Gaines and SJD. I simply feel that Staley thinks everyone is interchangeable and in fact they aren't. You can line anyone up anywhere but it doesn't mean they will play the position well or get the desired effect.

For example, Kromer can play Anchrum at LT but it doesn't mean he will play it well, even though that's where he's got him. Just like they have Evans at RT but he will simply be another Havenstein with slow feet and outmatched by speed. IMO instead of moving AD and whoever is at NT around so much perhaps they should try stunting them to free up AD. AD has exceptional quickness to pull off a stunt and he's been successful when it's been called.

Staley's defense is exceptionally vanilla. The better the offense is the worse it's going to look.

Lol you really hate Kromer don’t you? Even in a thread with absolutely nothing to do with him you still find a way to slight one of the best OL coaches in the league. It’s almost impressive at this point. Almost....
