And what's saying that to the public supposed to do? What a dumb coach--his teams will never win.

McVay was saying just yesterday how time has helped him appreciate more what Goff did for us.
I agree. never been a fan of calling out players publicly. IMHO that's in house stuff.

QBs always get too much credit and too much blame.

Goff is supposed to be a young talent that was going to be a part of the rebuild in the worse franchise in recent history.

He is showing what he is, again. He will never be The Guy who loads the rest of the team on his shoulders and carries them through a game. If Detroit thought or if he told them he could do that, they were wrong.

Coaches have to walk the line between guys under performing, especially if they are not putting in the extra effort, who knows if Goff is doing that now, and the players who are.

Goff is not now, never has been and never will be a great NFL QB.
But you may disagree with me, he was a very good QB in 2017 and 2018

Just re-watch the Minnesota Kansas City & New Orleans playoff game in 2018

I really don't know what happened to his accuracy on his deeper throws in 2019 and 2020 because he was on point in 2017 and 2018

Look, the cliché about football being the best team sport doesn't mean that it's not obvious who makes the majority of mistakes in any loss.

And when the player who makes the most money by a long shot and handles the ball on every play consistently makes bad decisions and bad throws, why not mention it.

Everyone knows the major cause so why are we expected to just act like we don't know. Goff was shit against cinci and it was obvious that his decisions and performance alone was the greatest deciding factor.

If you're making 35 mil a year and whine about your coach pointing out your obvious shitty play for 3 hours, than you don't belong in professional sports. Now, to goffs credit, I haven't heard him whining about it, just the idiot pundits who ridiculously think that players are too fragile to hear what we all see happening on the field.

So, if Goff goes on TV and says their coaches need to step up and do a better job, that would be cool?

Yeah as long as the coaches were the ones fumbling, missing the open receiver and throwing to the wrong guy to begin with.

Here's what Kurt Warner has to say. Basically he's laying it at Campbell's feet. He had years of game film to see what Goff does and doesn't do. Goff is back to another HC like Fisher trying to fit him into his own system rather than play to Goff's strengths. One more back handed slap at Campbell as a HC.

Campbell is a jerk. Blaming his player instead of looking for ways to help him. Hey, Jerkoff need for you to step up. Once again another example of bad coaching. Jared was a loser under Fisher, winner under McVay, loser under Campbell....that says it all....coaching and scheme fit.

He played some good games with what he had. He has never had a great throwing motion, never read coverages very well and only occasionally had high completion percentages.

I was hopeful after that SB run but he either quit trying to improve or something else took a higher priority in his life.

He scored and it’s definitely his choice how to handle it.

Goff didn’t win or lose without help.

Wins and loses is not a QB stat. Throwing the ball away on 4th and 4 when you have an open RB in front of you is all on Goff.

Has there been much talk about Stafford playing against the Lions ? --- he was only there from 2009-2020. Seems much of the tidbits are about Jared.

There's a lot of good things happening around the NFL:

The Rams beat Tommy boy for the second year in a row

The shitbirds are 2-4

The shitters are 2-3

Asshole Face looks to have another vintage 8-8, 7-9 aints team

Dan Snyder is getting what he deserves (well hopefully)

The Bengals finally appear to be fielding a good team w/ no felons

Derrick Henry is fuckin nuts

So are Bills fans

The Raiders are 4-2 (I like Derek Carr)

The Chiefs are mortal

Packers are still good

Brownies might be the same ole Brownies

Justin Herbert

Washington Football Team is the Washington Football team

Ditto Dolphins

Hate to admit it, but Dallas is entertaining ON the field

So yeah. Lots of good things.

If this thread is about Campbell, I will weigh in about it. Jared has no good receivers other than Hock, lost Ragnow who was the pillar of the OLine, and there still isn't a credible running game in Detroit. Not many QB's would look good in that situation, and Goff isn't one of them. McVay is a master of scheming receivers open and the Rams have excellent receivers and used to have a dominant running game. Many QB's would look good in those circumstances, including Goff. But Campbell's offense is nothing like that. McVay put Jared's limitations and errors on himself for years while supporting his player. It wasn't until last year that McVay expressed public concern about his QB's performance. Campbell is doing this after 6 games and zero wins. Therefore, it's an unusual move in a terrible situation but perhaps by holding the QB accountable, he's doing something drastic to "shake up" the team. While I don't agree with the method, I "get it" as far as not just rolling over in what is obviously a lost season.

As Rams fans, we've lived the same nightmare the Lions are experiencing. I, for one, feel nothing but gratitude that those years are well in our rearview and take no pleasure in other's misery unless you count the Patriots, Niners, Seahawks, and Saints.

The Lions should look on the bright side. As long as Holmes scouts and drafts as well as he did in LA, the Lions are almost a lock to be damn good in a few years. Especially with what looks to be another HIGH 1st round pick in their pocket......

Then again.......

Lions gonna Lion.

For anyone interested, we do happen to have a thread devoted to Campbell....

I can kind of relate to Goff in one way. In my younger years I worked security in some clubs with a guy I trained with. After I got involved with a stripper and moved her in, I changed and started to let her pick my clothes and tell me how to wear my hair and all that. My buddy that I worked with one day told me that I went from being a man to a mouse, overnight. Hot women can pull a good man down, fast.
