Yorkshire, England.

Have followed the Rams since the early 1980's after my Aunt and Uncle had a holiday in California and brought back some NFL merchandise. Not always been easy to follow from afar but have stuck with the Rams throughout.

I was born in Glendale Ca. in ‘54, saw my first Dodger game in ‘58 and got an autographed portrait of Duke Snider at 5 in ‘59. So when we moved north in ‘61 the deal was already sealed in regards to the Dodgers. Became a Giant hater and full fledged fan at 8 in ‘62. The other LA teams, Rams, Lakers, Bruins I started rooting for in about ‘65. George Allen was coach.

Well, I knew there wasn't much fan support for the Rams in St. Louis, especially since all they did was lose, but I didn't think the poll would be this lopsided.

Looks like I'll be the lone Ram fan within a 50 mile radius celebrating when the they become consistent contenders in the next few years, lul.

From Essex in England. My old man, an electrical engineer, was offered a job in California in he early 80’s so we moved over for a couple of years living in Pasadena and Monrovia. I went to Kindergarten and 1st Grade. I was given a Rams helmet whilst we were there and we used to go and watch the Dodgers. Supported the Rams and the other LA teams (Especially the Dodgers) ever since. My Dad was offered the green card but my Mum wanted to come home so we did, something that I have a pop at her about quite often!

Am I on the wrong site? This isn't "Rams - Soccer Talk", right? This place is feeling like NFL Europe!

Not that I have anything against Europe...as London is my personal favorite city.

I'm from France as well. I don't think there are plethoras of French Rams fan, glad to see I am not alone !

We had a cable channel in 1999 that started showing NFL games and my father introduced me to the game. I liked the unis and since it was the beginning of the GSOT and they were so much fun to watch the channel kept showing them. I followed them throughout the season and playoffs, and I remember watching the SB I recorded on a VHS, going crazy at the 70 yards touchdown. Warner was my hero.
Obviously, after a season like that, I could only remain a Rams fan.

I've been a fan since the 2012 game at Wembley against the Patriots. I just got into the game after watching the previous Superbowl so got tickets for the Wembley game. I didn't want to bandwagon a big team and thought the Rams sounded like an up and coming team - I just didn't realise I would have to wait so long!

Just curious where those on this board are from. I'm only 24 so I grew up with the Rams being in STL, and I'm a St. Louis sports fan all together. I'm pretty much the only person I know around here who is still a Rams fan after the move back to LA because it's all I've known for my entire life!

I'm from Denmark. The NFL only started becoming a thing over here during the last 10-15 years. If I remember correctly, I started really following football back in 2003, digesting everything I could, and the Rams immediately grabbed my attention. 1/ they were still being picked for European broadcast back then, and they were also pretty competent, and 2/ they share colors with my favorite football (as in soccer) team. That was enough.

That thrilling game with the double over-time loss to Carolina really pushed me over the edge. Even if it was a loss. Obviously I thought the Rams were gonna be good for a long time, so that helped a new fan too. How naive. Yet, once I'm in, I'm in. I was already a Rams fan, started to write on various fan forums, and that was pretty much that.

During winter one year, I was wearing my Rams hat to the supermarket, and the kid at the register kept staring at me, finally mustering up the nerve to ask me "how I could keep on being a Rams fan"?! And I don't really have an answer for that. But I have always believed that once you've picked your team, so to speak, whether by family history, chance, or whatever, once you're in, that's your team for life. Might be the NFL only regards me as a customer, but that's not how I feel about it. I have no patience for people who switch allegiances to other teams. So yea, it's been tough times for a Rams fan, but one of these days, fortunes will change, and oh, it will be so sweet!

I have nothing but respect for all of you out there who is still standing by the team, year after gruelling year.

I've been a lifelong Rams fan ever since I was 9. Growing up in the New England area as a first-gen. American, I came from a family that didn't know what the hell American football was. I turned on the tube and BOOM Faulk and the GSOT were what made me an instant fan. I was made fun of a lot at recess for not knowing how to play football so I would emulate guys like Faulk and Bruce out on the field to fit in. It's funny, I was CONSTANTLY called a fair-weather fan during that brief 2-3 year span when I would rock all my Rams gear around, but ever since those years, all people do nowadays is commend me for my loyalty, but also take cheap shots at our misery (Can you blame them?!!). I am enjoying our new success early on under McVay and can't wait to see this team become a perennial playoff team!!!

FWIW Regardless of sport or my location, the Rams will ALWAYS be my favorite sports team. GO RAMS!!!

(Great thread)

Glad you hung in there and didn't turn to the dark side. We need a NE Rams fan club or something. There are at least 5 of us on this board within a couple miles of each other
