Puka was never "in" rehab. He was doing a few hours a week "outpatient". Big difference.

Not saying you’re not right here but where did you see that? I had read that he was in a big money facility in Malibu or some shit like that. I realize it wouldn’t be shocking for that to have been driven by some TMZ type outlet and be all wrong but I haven’t seen where it was out patient.

Think it was JB Long on KFI radio show a month or so ago 503. Talk was about how overblown the public perception had gotten about Puka. That he was not enrolled in a 24 hr facility, but was seeing outpatient counseling.

I have been trying to find more clarity online but not much there, seems like its being kept under wraps, so who knows what's the truth of it.

In any case, I don't think Puka is going to miss any time at OTA's or be fined or sanctioned by the Rams or the NFL. But what do I know.

It's hard for me to believe that Puka is some kind of stone cold alcoholic at this point. (And I'm not implying that you were saying that.)
I just see a kid that was having too much fun and it got a little out of control.
Going to rehab was probably a preemptive thing his attorney recommended to him to show the future judge that he's putting effort into not enjoying himself as much. ;)
He is currently in rehab

No all the reports were it was a short term holistic treatment facility and he was out in time for full OTA participation.

Agree. Attorneys always recommend a preemptive move involving rehab, meetings, or some kind of counseling to show the judge at your hearing.

He's was/at a very nice inpatient facility that also does outpatient care. Basically they will build an entire treatment regimen around you if you have enough money and often let people do what they want (which is a problem). That's how he can go to workouts and stuff.

He is likely getting some great therapy though and probably round the clock companion care.

It's a model that's a little too permissive for me but if he's got some commitment he'll get something out of it.

Mumpfield. Doesn't offer a lot of YAC right now. Not sure that improves.
When he was on the field, he looked like a pro to me.
Smooth athlete deceptive speed.
On the play where he knew he was the primary receiver he didn't look like he was playing over his head.
He looked like he was playing toss with just him and the quarterback.
Then again it would be doubly nice if CJ took that third spot just by kicking ass in camp and making the most of his opportunities.
Hopefully he's a little more physical than Mumpfield in the downfield running game.

Mumpfield had some good plays last year and while slight, showed some skill at as a route runner. He seemed to not be a liability as a run blocker but as it stands now he seems below average there. Will a year in an NFL weight program allow him to put on some weight without losing his agility? Can he improve in his route savvy which was already pretty decent?
From what I have read, Mcvay and staff are very high on Mumpfield. I know reading something doesn't make
it fact. I do love his 50/50 ability. It really shows on his college video. This guy knows how to position
at the catch point.

The kid we drafted in the 6th, CJ Daniels, I don't know if his skill set will translate in NFL.
He is not a fast guy, but his 50/50 catch ability is Pukaesque, I am certainly not implying he is
anywhere near Puka's status. But you can certainly see the Rams blue print of what kind of WR's
Mcvay wants on his team.

From Puka to Mupfield to Daniels. They all know how to get body position
and attack the catch. Guys who can consistantly win the 50/50 game.
Gonna leave a link. Most of you guys have probably seen it, but It's a fun vid to watch.
Just too see the general Characteristics all three share.

Look, it's not that Mumpfield isn't a useful player but that's probably his ceiling. And I'm saying this as someone who loved his flashes on tape last draft class.

Kid is a decent 4th receiver but may end up inactive at times if he doesn't have a role on ST with a guy like Smith takin his spot on the 53 (this is if Daniels can earn a spot on gameday).

also...

i got a new longshot to root for so im happy...

"we aint done yet"...

cj's got some "unfinished business"...

He's got some "Puka" in him.

In more ways than one.

Can lightning strike for us TWICE?

Would be amazing.

i just want to know how this kid was still available so late in the draft?

go rams

If you're talking about CJ Daniels he has somewhat of an injury history but players have been known to grow out of that. Especially if they're not starters.

I recall about a mere 10 years ago how it was common for WRs to take 3 years to develop into something.

I see now it's down to about 8 games.

I guess humans are evolving.
