Who was that great coach who said, "you are what your record says you are"?

The Niners have a good front 7 on defense. They are the ones carrying the team. Jimmy G looks pretty ordinary most of the time, certainly not worth what they paid for him. Watch the Rams / Niners game and you will see that the Rams self destructed and lost that game as much as the Niners winning it. The Rams deserved to lose that game because of their sloppy play.

I think both the Niners and the Hawks are going to see a different Rams team next time around. IMO the race for the division title starts on Sunday. The Niners have feasted on a soft schedule. Let's see how good they are or aren't when they start playing good teams.

Jimmy G-spot can be pretty damned good of he has time...Key to frustrating him is to get pressure right away...Then he seems to get a bit carless and rattled..Ints are definitley in the equation then...I'm a believer about the Whiners being for real..It kills me to feel that way...

Like many have said, I think they're pretty good... but not sure how good, as they've had a pretty easy schedule.

Rams played very poorly when they met (I was at that game) and it was still somewhat close.

The next game and the ones that follow will tell me a lot.

I think its pretty clear they're much better than the previous two years. If someone told me they'd be 8-0 I woulda thought their offense would be the reason why with Shanahan as coach. But their defense is the reason why.

I live in a 49er/Raider market and I've seen my share of 49er games. From what I've seen, Jimmy GQ is not the immediate Hall of Famer his fans proclaimed him to be. But he does what is asked of him in that offense. He's doing his job for the most part. Although he does tend to make mistakes.

On the flip side, their schedule has been favorable for an 8-0 start. So there is some luck involved. But they're doing what good teams are supposed to do. Taking care of business against lesser opponents.

I'll be curious to see how they handle the tougher playoff games. Where games tend to have more intensity on the defensive side of the ball. If the game is tied or they're a point or two behind midway through the 4th quarter, how will they respond? They're not battle tested like some other teams.

Whiners Lucky or Good?
How about Satanic.

Have you guys seen The Omen? That’s all I could think about with that poor child in that guy’s hands.

I had to pay up a bet I lost and my buddy picked this sports bar called Casa Blanca - so we sit down and then I see this poor child in the Enemies hands.

All I wanted to do was to run up snatch the kid, saving it from the demon’s hands, taking it home and raising it as a proper Ram fan, just to give it some chance of a future worth living.

I mean, the thought of this innocent baby being tortured throughout it’s youth with tales of the evil exploits of Montana to Rice was just too much to bear. No child should ever have to hear those vile words “Rathman” or “Walsh” ever. I mean never!

To know that this child would be told about the dark days of yore, when Hacksaw Reynolds and Wendell Tyler crossed over into the darkside (the thing with isaac bruce never happened folks) and took the oath of Satan’s Friends. It was all too much to take. I started thinking of how I’d go all Cleveland Gary and run up and grab the kid, but remembered how many times he fumbled so not wanting to drop the kid, i started thinking of another Ram I could emulate but with better grip on the ball...

But then my beer showed up and I realized it’s not my job to save this child and that the only thing I could do was have faith. Faith that one day that child will grow up, escape his bonds, and come to the Light that is the LOS ANGELES RAMS — if for no other reason than to piss off his old man.

FUCK THE NINERS
GO RAMS!!!

I think they are a good team. I don’t believe in their QB for the long term and their backs are JAGs. But they are well coached. They have two great tackles. Bosa is a monster. Along with Armstead and I can’t think of the other giants name.

Sherman isn’t who he was, so that makes me happy. They are formidable. But I believe a flash in the pan.

I love our Rams. Hate the 49ers.

But to those of you on this thread saying stuff like, "easy schedule" and "lucky" and "JG is not that good" ... please just take a deep breathe, admit it to yourself, man up, and agree that the stupid loser worthless 49ers are a very good team.
Do you know what 8-0 is? Do you think we are going to take the division from them? As much as we all hate them and try to talk them down with our comments, we're just angry. They're still 8-0 and whomped on us. It doesn't look good.

They’re Legit. For now. A good coach will figure out how to beat them. Their D line is off da hook. What makes them dangerous is how hungry they must be after the last two years.

We have looked look fat and happy by comparison. It’s time for the Rams to get hungry again. What happens in Pittsburgh on Sunday will tell you all you need to know about the Rams’ attitude this season.

They're a good team. They've also benefited from a weak schedule and NOT getting their opponents best shot every week...similar to the Rams in '17.

Regarding their "easy" schedule, nope, not really. Although I do agree they have not been getting their opponents 'best shot' each week.

You do realize they play 14 of the same teams the Rams do....Right?
This whole "last place schedule" thing, went away years ago - save for only two games per year.

I will say this, SF has been fortunate that the weak parts of their schedule was at the start of the year, so there's that.

When you look at their opponents thru the first 9 weeks

And look at the Rams' thru 9 weeks

SF hosts CAR
Rams @ CAR
SF hosts CLE
Rams @ CLE
SF hosts PIT
Rams @ PIT
SF has played AZ in division
Rams have played SEA in division
Both played CIN & TAMPA
Rams got NO & ATL
SF got WASH

My point is that while the bulk of the full schedules are in a template as you said, i prefer to look deeper. Road vs home gm's are just one of the differences/advantages/disadvantages between facing the same opponents.

There's also this strictly by the numbers:
