I’m in the “who cares what others think” mindset.
Anyway, this will all change after week 1 when we stomp the cowboys on national TV 31-17!
Thants when Kyle Brandt makes us his favorite team in the world for 6 weeks...

One thing is clear; The Rams are under the radar. Not sure if this is just in the media or if this is also a large portion of the NFL fan base.

We have a great opportunity to strike.

Please, keep doubting us.

How can a team that has won 33 games in 3 seasons be called a sleeper team?

Why do people (rams fans included) keep trying to suggest that we aren't a fucking damn good football team? Its starting to annoy me.

I'll bet you nobody remembers that the 49ers had a losing record and missed the playoffs the year after their first SB win. They had the talent and the organization was good enough to continue what that first SB run had started.

I'd like to believe, and I certainly hope, the Rams have put that same--or close to it--level of smarts in the organization and that they continue to find ways to keep the talent level high enough to continue what the SB 53 run began.

At the very least, I'm confident that Sean McVay isn't going to blow his team up b/c he insists on being the smartest guy in the room like Mad Mike did.

IDK if NFL teams are overlooking the Rams but, media and other teams fans probably are. New Coordinators, new faces and a renewed McVay will get the Rams back in the hunt. The offense is improved with healthy young talent at RB and WR. The defense has become sturdier and deeper.

I think it might be a media driven thing, I was listening to Middlekauff and he didn’t even mention the Dallas game as one to watch, even if you think dallas is superior the spectacle of it should be something to see. then he talked about every team in the west including Arizona before announcing the Rams would be terrible.
Then there’s Gottlieb who announced that despite being about to open the most expensive, advanced, beautiful stadium in history, the rams don’t really have a fan base in LA. If I didn’t know better I’d say the guy was bitter about his chargers tagging along like somebody’s little brother on a date.

I would rather be a sleeper than anything else. Go ahead teams......you go ahead and look past our Gurlyless, Good for nothin QB who "busted" last year (Whatever), New coaches that haven't jelled yet, cap problems, No frontline, And all the guys we lost this year. That's it, you just look past us. YES, Our new Logo may suck ass, And it does, But we will be in the playoffs.

if you can’t run the ball play action just lets the defense get a bead on you while your back is turned, I think without having to manage Gurley the run game picks up again.
Yeah the run game really is a key element for this season. Our run game dropping from 1st to 25th range was a big part of the reason our offense dipped to 10th in scoring. So we seem to be set up for a bounceback season with Akers coming in. Even a jump back to the 10th range in the run game would have a big impact on the offense.

Only real concern is the OL. This is a crucial season for Kromer IMO, as well as Snead. Both need this OL to perform well.

If we can run the ball enough to make play action work the O could dominate again. Goff managed to throw for 4600 yards last under adverse and predictable passing circumstances. If Akers and the o- line can step up, watch out.

Way too many new faces--coaches and players--to say for sure. New dynamics on the teams around us. I think what looks good, thanks to McVay, Snead, and the infrastructure they've constructed, is the long-term. I don't mind the idea of being perennially in the mix, always somebody nobody wants to play, kind of like the 1970s Rams.

Ohhhh the disrespect.

Yep at this point we're a sleeper team. ESPN reporters picked every game - Lindsay had us at 8-8 but the Chargers at 10-6.

I looked through the reporters for all the other teams to see what they picked for us:

6-10

Lol unbelievable. The most disrespectful:

Bears, Giants and Patriots apparently will beat us. I can understand the Cardinals and Seahawks beating us once each and I can forgive Wagoner for thinking the Niners will sweep us. I can also see losses to the Bills, Bucs and Eagles - or at least I can see why the ESPN writers would think that. But the Bears and Patriots at home and at the Giants? Lol

And it's a tad disrespectful for the Cardinals to think they'll beat McVay when they've yet to really even come close, as well as the Niners sweeping us.

So yes, we're officially a sleeper team.

.

I'm hoping to not see teams put 40+ points on the Rams this season.

Ravens and cowboys ran all over the rams d last season.
