Anyone else notice a quiet confidence with this team?

I'm very confident in this week's matchup , our defense should be all over whoever starts for the Colts. They are also missing their number 1 corner so hopefully offense can make some plays down the field . Hate to say it but I was confident week1 last year and that didn't work out so well ....LETS GO RAMS !

I'm a kool-aid drinker of the worst kind. I even thought about making Mr. Kool Aid my avatar. This year I told myself that I was going to keep cool, not get too excited about anything. And, for the most part, I have. So, in the sense of keeping it down, I don't know what too think about this team. We haven't seen the defense period. We've only seen Goff for a little more than a half period. We've seen more of Mannion and Orlovsky. Our special teams haven't been special.
I can't wait for Sunday to see our team. Deep down, I'm expecting to see something that reminds me of 1999. If they manage to put 30 on Indy, my expectations for the rest of the season will be sky high. I just don't want to see anything that remotely reminds of last years game one. As soon as I post this, I'm guzzling as much kool aid as possible. Let the Rams rumble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

McVay is the leader of this team. The final 63 in camp, on the final depth chart & the PS have adopted the 'we, not me' attitude. No prima donna's, no loud one-upmanship, the Rams are focused and have bought into the program McVay & Phillips have installed. It's a new era in Ramstown, and both the players & fans have every reason to be confident. It may not be all smooth year 1, but we can see & feel the change in atmosphere, soon enough the rest of the league will catch on, although being the media underdog this season may very well be to our advantage. jmo.

I think you guys need to seriously temper your expectations
Great advice. Unfortunately, I won't be heeding it.
If the Rams display anything short of good football, I will do my usual piss and moan song and dance. By the end of the day my dog won't even want to have anything to with me. Good thing misery loves company. I'll be drunk posting things I can't take back on the vent thread.

I was somewhat optimistic, until the Watkins signing - that changed the dynamic immediately. I've got a few concerns as you guys do, but speed kills, and he is the #1 WR we've been missing for what -- since Holt left? Britt was ok but he never stepped up his game.Tavon just simply doesn't have the catch radius, though he can get deep & beat the likes of R. Sherman :D He's not a #1 WR, not sure what he is exactly. Watkins Woods Pharoah Kupp Tavon Reynolds, I like that.

Well it sounds like you have it all planned out. :D

I think we will win so you and your dog should be getting along just fine.

Let's enjoy some optimism and excitement while he don't have a reason not to. As cliche as it is, we are undefeated right now!
It's not a cliche. It's a fact and I hope it stays that way for a month-month and a half................."Kool aid Kool aid real great"

What do you mean we KoolAid drinkers have to have red font? I am so fucking pumped for this team to take the field that I can't help but grin and guzzle all of the fucking KoolAid in the world!

You hear that Phillips D is simple to understand which lets players play fast which is what you want, McVay has also said he wants to make Goff's job as easy as possible which is also what you want, a qb who understands and is confident. Of course we'll just have to wait and see, even the mighty Pats can look mortal.

Re: Watkins... I don't think we are going to feel his addition right away in the receptions and yards as teams are going to have a safety over the top of him early and often. Him affecting that safety position is key though and of course I am sure McVay will try to take advantage.
Me thinks you just argued your own point, haha. We will feel his addition via him just being on the field. A deep threat is something the Rams have just not had in a loooong time, and that should open things up underneath . That is something to be optimistic about, but I am still wary of this offense getting off to a fast start. Expecting a slow start to the season for the O. Hopefully that improves over time.

how about kool aid kool aid taste great kool aid kool aid can't wait.

We have a lot of talent. It's going to come down to how the offensive line plays....if Goff has time, I believe he can at least be a league average QB - and with that, this can be a playoff team.
