Any real oldheads around, or anyone who knows what it was like being a Rams fan back in the 50s–70s?

Asking if there's any oldhead bastards who want to relive the old days on RoD... :laugh3:

HAHA! I know the old days. I remember characters like squeaky wheel. Now he was trippy; he and Champ made our own characters nowadays look genuinely sane and normal. I believe he made numerous other accounts to get around being banned.

I also remember X (one of the two main founders of ROD; if you're still here, my brother, give us a sign!), Thordaddy, DaveFan'51 (rest in peace and paradise, both Odin and Dave). There was also Stranger, CodeMonkey, brokeu, Alan, and a lot of the older folk (too many to name, but I remember all of you) we lost with the move to LA. Still wish they stayed on, but I understand why they left.

First Ram game in the late 60’s vs Detroit in the coliseum. First Rams playoff game 1974 vs Redskins. 80,000 fans. Isiah Robertson sealing the game with a 58 yard interception return to seal the LA Rams their first playoff victory since 1951. The Coliseum was rocking that day.

The highlights music was so much better in those days.

In fact, music in general was.

I started watching the Rams in the early 70s and was so frustrated that they couldn't get to the superbowl until 79 and that was their worst team in the entire 70s after Prothro

I too was a fane from about 1969 until now. Back then the Rams were considered a powerhouse, winning an unprecedented 7 division titles in a row (at the time). But they always choked in the playoffs. It seemed like the cowgirls or the viqueens knocked us out every single time we got into the playoffs, even with home field advantage. The defense was rock solid, except for times in the playoffs.

For me the most devastating playoff loss was against the vikings. The Rams drove the ball down to about the 1/2 yard line. On 4th down, they bring in Tom Dempsey to kick an 18 yard FG. It gets blocked and run back for a TD and the rest is history.

Extremely frustrating. When the Greatest Show on Turf won the Super Bowl, I think I was happy for the whole year and the 800 pound gorilla was off my back. :)

Y’know it’s funny though. As a young teen I actually liked Pat Haden. Not sure if it was just blind love for everything Rams or what. The underdog thing? Dunno. Maybe it was his 35-19 record as a starter. Looking back at his stats, it’s a mystery.

But I’d gladly pay TWO… yes TWO nickels for that fat head.

Let the bidding begin.

I see your nickels and I raise you a 3 dollar bill, my friend. I can see that blond head gracing my man-cave now. I’ll put it on my man crush wall, right next to Dreamy Troy Reeder.
