He missed a 63 yarder. Cut him NOW.

He also missed a 35 yarder and a 50 yarder, which are standards for a good kicker

Not saying he should be cut tomorrow, but something has to be done IMO

The thing that bothers me most about the 63 yarder is that in Fishers mind,we have a better chance at
converting the kick than we do converting a 4th and 3.

He's won quite a few games for us, or sent them to OT at the very least.

Let's not create a major issue out of a minor issue.

Not gonna lie, if this becomes a problem and we lose a close game because of GZ I'm gonna be PO'd.

For now, I'll chalk it up to a slump and say that his natural talent will shine through in the end and hopefully when it matters most.

He's clutch, though. I'm good with GZ.

I'm not sure clutch misses from 34 with the game very close..That was an important miss, even though the Rams went on to win...I'm not advocating ripping his throat out, but I am starting to get a little concerned about consistency

He's an average NFL kicker. Wouldnt say he needs to be replaced but wouldnt be upset if he was either.
Having the big leg is awesome and is great to see him split the uprights on kick offs but the reality is that kickers just shouldnt miss kicks inside 40 yards. Particularly in a dome

Seems to me that when he does miss, its at a critical spot

Understand the concern.
More concerned about needing him.
Just kidding....sort of.
No, I think you're right. With a decent passing game, especially in the red zone, we don't need him for those three points so much.

We all know which is the quickest fix though.

GZ is clutch.. when the game is on the line i feel confident in him..

no NFL kicker is gonna make 50+ yards everytime..
but he shouldnt miss too many under 50 yards.
GZ kinda blows me with his game or two every season when he just starts trippin.

Well I can't blame him for misses over 60 yards. But that 35 yarder or whatever it was is no bueno. Especially after all the misses against Green Bay. His leg is dangerous but it doesn't matter if he can't be consistent. He's got to be better the rest of the season.
It's gotten to the point where I cover my eyes when GZ is attempting a FG -- I can't bear to watch it go all Norwood. It's happened too often on attempts of 45 yards or less.

He's been talked about ad infinitum already. Not much else left to speak on is there?

Conversions rates:
Seattle: 100%
Washington: 100%
Pittsburgh: 100%
Arizona: 100%
Green Bay: 25% (50 yarder blocked, 53 yarder no good, 63 yarder no good)
Cleveland: 33% (39 yarder no good, 63 yarder no good)

So, he's missed 5 this season:
One was blocked... might be his fault but usually not
Two were 60+ yards... can't get too worked up over those.... kinda crap shoots at that distance.
Two were what I consider disappointing.

So, out of 13 attempts, I'm gonna say he's missed two he should have made.

That's an 85% "make-able conversion rate" (yes, I just made that up... I'm calling ESPN now for a job :D). Not that shabby.

If misses from 55 or less continue, I'll worry.

Until then, we have much bigger problems on this team... as in... why do we even need to kick 60+ yarders? ;)

Oh, I kind of thought that was what we were supposed to do here..Beat the horse not only until it's dead, but long after the carcass smells awful...

Well that is what we do, since, even as a collective, we still don't have the power to bench Cook, give Austin and Bailey more looks, trade for a WR blah blah blah

Since not a single one of us works in the Rams front office, all we can actually do is sit in front of our screens and bitch about what we think should be done.

What I've finally done is to read as much as I feel like I want to in a thread, then not click there anymore...

I don't like this post!

For too long, Rhody has been slacking in his posts... not giving 100%.

I mean, look at this one!! Clearly, he took this post off... broke off some words... didn't give himself up!!

I say we keep a close eye on Rhody and, if this continues, there will be tar.. there will be feathers... there will be pitchforks and there will be torches!!

Best show us something this week, Rhody!!
