I am with you on much of this. Life expectancy is not supposed to go down with "modern" medicine. But it has. I think all those commercials should be illegal. Only 2 countries allow them. People sitting on their couches' seeing a commercial should not be asking their doctor about some wiz bang designer drug.
Take a look at some diseases that almost did not exist 100 years ago and it makes you wonder. I don't trust Big Pharma and only use them when I have to but also look to natural remedies for things.
We have a kid at work who deals with what you do. Clots, legs-lungs and he tells me how painful they can be. I worry about him, great kid.

I don’t know where you got your info but US life expectancy has always been trending up until COVID, and modern medicine and prenatal care are pivotal factors.
Most of the drugs advertised on tv are not FDA approved, so you shouldn’t be taking them. That’s why they say consult your doctor, because they aren’t normally recommended. Avoid those.

That was the first one I saw and thought it had a long enough trend to cover a modern medicine timeframe, even with the last 5 years were missing.
If the focus is the last 5 years and not modern medicine overall, we then get into vaccine conspiracies which is a different topic.
I am perfectly aware life expectancy was going up until around 2020. You say until covid. I say until millions upon millions of people thought they were doing something safe and effective to avoid covid.

Btw the U.S. used to be #1 in the world in life expectancy, but has dropped to ~50th according to aggregate. Democracies with universal forms of health care top the lists.

I think that comes down to the fact that we are a bunch of fat asses. Went to the beach last month and you had to look far and wide to find a fit person over the age of 40, and even half of the young people were overweight and or obese. That directly leads to lower life expectancy.
