Decker left Detroit over pay negotiations. We sure we can afford him?
Desperate times call for desperate measures. Can we not afford to try to afford him? Move things around and bring in Decker. Then see how the Jackson scenario plays out. IMO, the Rams are lucky someone like Decker is still available. Hopefully, they will be able to sign him soon.

KC has a backup tackle asking for a trade.

StL2la posted this in the FA thread.

Not sure he is any good though. I know nothing about him. Probably better to rely on Trost and Vet.

I thought I read the reason he asked for a trade was because the kitty kats drafted his replacement. Something about being the starter for 10 years and then overnight I’m not. It may not be a money issue but rather a playing time issue.

AI google says the below. Also, didn't know he played through injuries last season. Would help explain his average play... maybe.

Yeah, I read something about their "plans weren't aligning". That could also mean money but playing time was the reason given.

Well, with the likes of David Quessenberry and AJ Arcuri hanging around, playing time will not be an issue for Decker. Plus I would promise the starting job even if Jackson comes back and remind Ohio's Native Son that it never rains in Southern California.

That's what I was saying, if we sign Decker he is our starter in my mind no matter what happens. I'm guessing Rams are waiting to find out the whole truth and will make a swift decision once everything is out.

“Starting LT job” is another way of saying “starting LT money”.

It’s money - it’s always money

A toxic fight that can possibly lead to a lengthy suspension. The company one keeps makes a big difference. Not his first offense and a pregnant lady involved too, the NFL not gonna like those optics. I personally sense a suspension even though I know he should get due process.
Unless you actually witnessed the altercation you are just speculating. Due Process must be served and possibly a trial must determine him to be responsible by virtue of a unanimous verdict by his peers. Might be wise to have that trial before you destroy this man’s career based on rumors and as yet unsubstantiated claims. He gets the benefit of the doubt just like anyone accused.

I agree with you completely, and this is coming from someone who ran a domestic violence unit for a prosecutor's office. There are serious inconsistencies in the story as it sits right now. How does he throw her phone and then she immediately starts recording on a second phone? How many people actually have a second phone ready to go like that? And what is the motive for recording in the first place? There will almost certainly be a payday for the accuser.

The sad part is that he put himself in that situation, period. It is highly likely this goes away on the criminal side, but the NFL is unforgiving when it comes to domestic violence, and he already has a strike against him. I would expect a 6 game suspension, likely appealed down to 4 depending on how the criminal charges resolve. In my opinion we are looking at a stopgap situation for at least 4 games, possibly 8.

I appreciate this sentiment but that's not how things work.

Legally he is supposed to get the benefit of the doubt. This does not extend beyond our legal system. Innocent until proven guilty was built into our nation as a way to constrain STATE POWER.

You can argue that we should extend this beyond his legal rights but that's just not how things work nor should it be if we want a functioning capitalistic society. Private individuals and companies have different stakes (say reputational and lack of trust) and choose to act in different ways (ie, NFL's punishment system).

I'd guess we need to move fast. There are a few other teams in need of a LT.

Where there is fire.... 2nd time makes it a character issue and we don't do players who get arrested twice guilty or not. I guess he doesn't have the smarts to be smarter than putting his money, career and reputation on the line.
Rams might Have to count on defense and a stout running game and tight end sets to get through this. Unless his replacement is crushing it. Then we might see fireworks. Let's see how much punishment Stafford takes. We went from favorites to a torn achilles before the season Even started. Go Rams.
