Let’s all hope he gets there!!It's crazy that AD needs 7 more pro bowls and 5 more All-Pro honors to pass Merlin Olsen.
Let’s all hope he gets there!!
It feels that way this year. The league is really pushing Watt and Parsons from Dallas.
Imagine if the Rams had taken Mack at 2 and then drafted AD!
To win DPOY, I think he'd need to pick up another four or five sacks over the final two games and hope that Watt and Parsons don't have a monster performance. What's crazy and unexpected to me is I just saw that Robert Quinn is second in the NFL with 17 sacks right now. Didn't realize he was having such a great year. He's 0.5 sacks away from 100 sacks for his career. Happy for him! What are the Chances/Odds AD will win his 4th DPOY this season? I know there is a lot of competition (TJ Watt, etc) but nobody can convince me that there is a better Defensive Player in the NFL than Aaron Donald!!!
I'm happy for Rob too, but it emphasizes how great AD is...... In three less years as primarily an interior Dline position, Donald only has two less sacks than Quinn! To win DPOY, I think he'd need to pick up another four or five sacks over the final two games and hope that Watt and Parsons don't have a monster performance. Who cares? As long as we were winning with our monster defense!would fisher still be the coach?
whatever happened in the past, while hard to endure at the time, was perfect because it led to mcvay becoming the rams hc.

It makes sense to me as well. He does have a history of getting better as the seasons progress. Never thought of it till now though.I have a theory on this… (because I think Donald has had “slow starts“ before)…
As the season goes on, most guys start to wear down… But Donald, the freak trainer he is… he is now significantly better/stronger than the guy lining up across from him. He has trained harder.
Makes sense to me!
Brooks was so good. Went to five Pro Bowls, and was still under-rated ... IMO.Larry Brooks was also an amazing DT in the 70's as the Rams have been very fortunate along the defensive line with many stars over the years.

Yes he was, that was quite a front four too in Youngblood, Olsen, Brooks & Fred Dryer.Brooks was so good. Went to five Pro Bowls, and was still under-rated ... IMO.
In that 2014 draft can you imagine if they had just taken Donald there at 2 overall and then went BPA from there? That draft had a lot of Pro Bowl type players (†) there in that range where we had taken Donald...

Nope. He was just the placeholder, no matter whether the team achieved or not.
I'm still thankful for Fisher though. At least made the Rams average. After YEARS of basement dwelling. Plus, he drafted a few great players we still have today (Hekker, AD)
