Nope, no hard information known to me.

Just my guesses as to Snead’s mindset followed by my own personal hopes.

No way am I drafting a QB in round one.. unless, by miracle, one you absolutely couldn't say no to drops. And, no, that's not Bo Nix or Penix.

Edge and Corner are where critical upgrades are needed to get this defense to the next level. Danielle Hunter will be a Ram, I'm putting money on it. He negotiated a deal that allows him to hit the market. No one close to him is likely to hit the market.. they'll be franchised.
He will be expensive, but probably only on 3 years (unless they want to play with void years).
They need one high-level corner. The could arguably survive with that plus Kendrick and Crew.. but they need at least one big upgrade there.
I don't think the safety room is complete and I think Fuller's departure opens the door to an upgrade there. How that happens is the question.
I'm definitely in the "take a LT in the first round" camp.. while keeping Alaric Jackson. I have no idea if the Rams will go as high as Dotson can get in FA.. but I know that having the interior line stronger is helping the run game and Stafford. It has to be a priority.

Shelton IS NOT UNDER TEAM CONTROL. His deal allows him to opt out, and he will. He's earned a raise.

Also need more help on DL.. and I agree on drafting another RB.

I'd keep Demarcus Robinson if the price was very reasonable... AND draft another WR with some wheels. It can be a lower round smaller guy.. but another burner, please.

Tight End? Maybe a late round guy.. insurance if Long doesn't make it back.. but I'm good with Higbee and Allen as 1&2.

What I feel confident about? The Rams are going all in for a short time span. They didn't go through this season for a 5 year plan.. they're maximizing Stafford, Donald and Kupp and will be opening up a ton of money for FA next season. This is Los Angeles where franchises are bold.. See the Lakers and Dodgers. You do NOT wait around for something to develop.. you go BIG.

It's interesting how views change on this forum. I remember when we made that mega-deal to trade picks and Jared Goff for Matthew Stafford. The consensus view was that McVay liked dealing with a proven commodity at QB which Stafford was to a point. He had never won a playoff game and yet Sean felt comfort there. After Goff being drafted as a rookie and losing a Super Bowl with him and then winning one with Stafford, it was surmised that there was more risk with a rookie QB.

Why would McVay change that pattern when he won a Super Bowl by going all in with a proven player? What makes you think he won't do the same thing in the future, no matter how many flashy rookie QB's are available in the draft? We could be just one off season stay at Cabo for Stafford2.0.

I think McVay rides the Stafford train as far as it takes us and then Les loads up for a monster trade for another veteran QB.

Good question. I think for him to take a QB one he loves will need to be on the board first of all, which is a big IF. But assuming that happens then he will be able to park that young QB behind Stafford and shape him so he will be ready. And if he misses on the young QB then he goes back to Stafford 2.0 as you say, the fallback option where you grab that best vet you can get your hands on.

But in a lot of ways Stafford was an outlier. Detroit had shit on him for so long that his value had been depressed in spite of the qualities he had. He also had some poor film, but the guys who know what's up valued him and competed for him. Thing is how often does a Stafford come along, meaning a guy who hits the market still in his prime with mastery of the game. There's a scarcity issue at work here.

I'm of the mind that the Rams will try again to draft and develop. Question is whether it's this next draft or the one thereafter. But if it isn't this next draft then you may be right, where maybe at that point they see something they like on the FA market and go that route. In the end this probably just comes down to them being flexible and ready to take advantage of what best presents itself. QB you should always have an eye on.

I expect Shelton to be extended in the $6-$7M/yr range. Its all about the guaranteed $$. He will take it because he's tired of battling for a starting position. Allen gets cut and McAllister becomes the backup C'

I think they will try to extend Robinson and considering his history if they make him a reasonable offer I think he will accept. This will allow them to use Robinson as a bridge XWR. Has the size and speed you want there. Not every WR can play X and they have missed Woods.

Dotson will be offered about $6-$8M/yr but they could get outbid. Or they might go with McClendon or Noteboom because they know Dotson will get them a comp pick. IMO they drafted McClendon to play RG. I don't think they will pay Dotson $10-$11M/yr but someone else might. Personally, I hope Kevin stays and $6-$8M/yr would be a fair offer for a RG.

I'm up in the air about Jackson as he's going to want big money and he's still a developmental player. I think they make him a take it or leave it offer & he will likely walk. The Rams likely see him as a comp pick so they probably use their second or third round pick on a OT.

I doubt they want to pay Havenstein $14.5M for one more year. I think they might offer the RT spot to Jackson but I think his ego won't accept it. So realistically they might end up with Noteboom there by restructuring this contract. for 3 more years. They might even send him back to LT as a bridge starter. and play a rookie at RT who will replace Joe in one or two years.

IMO QB, CB, Edge, OT, WR and RB will be their primary concerns. I think they could draft 2 CBs one early one on the 3rd day.

I think you're right on the overall concept, I just think it could also be for a rookie QB.

That's why they're in such an interesting moment as a franchise.

If they nail another draft.. they could be set up for a nice *reset* in 2026 or 27. As this class expires out of rookie deals and starts to become more expensive, they'll be losing Stafford, Kupp and Donald, imo.

At that point, hopefully, the roster will be in a position where it makes sense to trade what it takes to draft a top QB.. hopefully that kind of talent is available.

The idea is that they'll have that "rookie QB deal" model.. with, again, hopefully a pretty full roster ready to support a kid.

That's one reason I could really see them trying to trade back a bunch next year and just fill as many positions as possible.
