Still no run stuffing ILBer . Much needed

Totally agree and no matter how many points we give up to the Chiefs during the bye week I'm bringing in couple of bodies for the run at linebacker. My target would be a fresh Navarro Bowman who is not what he used to be but still played the run well on a crap raiders team who did not have same defensive line as us and our corners will be back which is huge why not try bowman out???? He would have time to get acclimated during the bye and down the stretch. Of course assuming he wants to win and take a team friendly deal which is more than what he is making now.

Not to mention he probably would be good to mentor Littleton and Kizer and maybe even teach Barron or anyone on our defense how to tackle. To me it's a no brainier honestly.

I'd like to see Micah Kizer get some run inside with Littleton. I think that would help us against the run

Kizer will have his chance I'm just not willing to give it to him in what will be game 12 after the bye in a championship type season besides he could learn a lot as could others from bowman.

I would much rather give Kiser a shot because at least he knows the system. Bowman hasn't played and would need to learn the calls. Plus he's a major liability in coverage, Wade won't use him

I like the idea of bringing him in for a workout and making sure he's not overweight and can move well. He's a walkin injury risk but have to think he's got more in him for a half season than some of the other depth options on the roster.

I specifically said the run and he isn't good in coverage but with talib coming back soon some help with the run would be nice and he played very well last year on an inferior raiders team who did not posses the line up we do.......with that being said how much worse can the defense get???? Kiser will replace Barron next year as Barron will probably be cut it would be nice to have bowman also for mentoring young linebackers while we make our run hopefully a super bowl run.

Also during the bye week there is plenty of time for bowman to pick up the defense not to mention the rest of the regular season and hopefully a bye in 1st round so definately not concerned with any of that however I'd like to see what shap he is in and if he still has passion and willing to accept peanuts. Lol

I know you said the run but coverage is very important to Wade, that's why I said he wouldn't use him lol

You have to work with what we got, and you can't ignore the fall off from some of our past players. Great defensive minds can scheme weaknesses into non factors. That's how I see it anyway. Can we improve on talent, heck yes? Can coaching, and scheming, and timing be better, heck yes?

Yea possible but when your giving up almost 300 yards rushing to the Hawks and getting decimated by most teams rushing and passing I'm thinking he can rotate and take some chances cause right now what's killing us even more than our passing game is our run defense is horrible.....I'm sure wade can rotate and use his experience in passing downs but last I checked whatever probowl linebacker is in coverage isn't doing that well at all anyhow that's why there are substitutions and honestly what would it hurt???? I'm for taking a look at whatever can cap this season with a Super Bowl. Talib comes back to hopefully solidify the pass defense so I'd feel way more comfortable with a foursome of fowler Barron bowman and Littleton than having ebukam ever step foot on the field again and longacre can sub in. None of our backers are great in coverage anyhow and none are really great in run stopping so I would add someone who at least is a definite one out of two. Lol

I understand why you want to add a ILB but It's my opinion that Bowman is too old. Everyone wants a superbowl but I just don't see us picking up players that no other team wanted.

Maybe the question is moreso whether he has it in him, but he's not all that old (30). I wonder what he looks like, has the dude been keeping himself in shape?

He played very well last year for the Raiders. Just priced himself out of the game tbh.

Priced himself out? The Rams are near the max for the cap so it doesn't sound like it's possible to even sign him. I know the Browns worked him out and passed.

Yes. Priced himself out. The Raiders had a good year from him but in negotiations he reportedly wanted way too much money, which must be the case since he is still unsigned.

As to the Rams and cap availability who knows whether he'd be interested in helping us out on a Super Bowl run. But you aren't gonna find out without making that particular call. And of course that's assuming the dude is in shape and whatnot which is a big consideration.

Re: the Browns I don't know that he'd be too much help for them in Williams' defense, based on what they have and scheme fit and all. Not really worried about who they've passed on or whatever tbh.

The Rams will have five gms after the bye left. The Rams will be either 9-2 or 10-1 & very close to the clinch. The plan should be made soon after Monday's gm is over as to what decisions that need to be made in order to reach the SB. Fact is this defense as it is today will NOT :help:help this Rams team goal is accomplished:hellno:.

So over the next 6 weeks that includes the bye can this Ram Org plan to make to improve this poor defense to save this season from being a very big let down & failure after all the Ram present & future :huh:capital already utilized to place this team in a strong position to play in the big game.

The offense is just about in full strength (even minus our great WR Cooper Kupp being gone). ST's looks to be coming together but can get better when SL/KR/PR Pharoh Cooper returns to the active roster. Thus we have positives:lifting: here to work with(y).

But the :poop: DEFENCE:sadwalk: must get into the fixer up garage for some serious inspections. Our Nuts & Bolts need to be tightened. The wore out, wore down & non working elements after inspection need to be exchanged for better elements in order to make this final run @ this SB win.:bueller:

You know Boni I think the Rams are going to look a bit different going into the playoffs. I think their defense will be enormously better when Talib returns, and losing Kupp will result in an offense that is easier to contain. So the end result will be less explosiveness offensively but a better overall team because of their improved ability to reduce points allowed.

And for the playoffs, that's a really big benefit IMO. Just hoping that Talib is fully ready to go when he comes back, and that we can avoid further injury the rest of the way.

Can't hurt to look at him. Fresh legs and a few weeks to get in game shape.

The coverage liability is the big concern. Teams will throw his way.

Again what can it hurt teams seem to be running and throwing everywhich way? Just don't understand why opposed to just checking it out.

I said try it out during the bye week see what she's he is in etc. like @Merlin mentioned and myself Bowman had a good year with an inferior raiders team last year. Also nobody wanted Dez, Marshall, etc. But sometimes a veteran piece with experience can contribute especially on what is supposed to be a very good defense. You think the saints think Marshall is still Jerry Rice? They just know he might be able to help in certain situations and he might be useful somewhere down the line. Giving him a look during bye week is smart don't see why anyone would be opposed if he is out of shape or terrible then it's a pass.
