It's definitely an odd story whether the Rams still hold that record or not. They are credited in different places of gaining 722 and 735 yards in that game. According to John Turney both can be true.I believe the Dolphins also fell 6 yards shy of the NFL record for most yards in a game…a record held by the 1951 Los Angeles Rams!

Van Brocklin was thrown for a 13 yard sack in that game, which accounts for the discrepancy. But in 1950 and 1951, NFL didn't count yards lost on sacks against a team's net yardage total. No one knows why.
Because of that quirk in record keeping, the Rams technically could still hold that record, even if by NFL standards of determining net yardage, they would not.
