During the last whiner game I forgot they were even there until we let them win.

The city itself has the bad rep because of North and East St. Louis. There are some rough parts, but all in all, downtown is fairly safe.

And that's not even getting into the counties. St. Louis County is beautiful, well-off, and has a lot of things to do. The crime rate from the city - which is not connected to the county because the city back in the 1800s idiotically thought that the county wouldn't produce anything of value - is high, sure, but only in a few parts, much like L.A., much like San Fran, much like any other city.

St. Louis is an historic city with a lot of good people and great sports fans. As you say the County is beautiful, though the 1800's were a bit premature for urban planning much removed from the Mississippi which was the economic foundation of the city.

Originally French, St Louis was the starting point for Lewis and Clark, fur trappers going northwest up the Missouri (the other great river just north of town), then riverboats from New Orleans up to Minnesota. Then a checkered history as part of a slave State. Later still German, Irish, and Italian immigrants. A great spot for Italian food, favored by Tommy Lasorda, Frank Sinatra and many others. Still later in the 20th century black folks came from the South looking for better lives. A starting point also for jazz. Miles Davis, Josephine Baker, many others. Baseball. Even an NFL championship.

it's not perfect, nowhere is, but it still has a lot of midwestern character and friendliness.

I think 50% of the original were sold + the original tix to season ticket holder (which also could have been resold). The TOTAL of tickets sold resale market seem to be 70% whiner fans. But I'll believe it when i see it.

You said it perfectly. One more thing: we St. Louisans are extremely passionate about hockey. We had the longest playoff streak of any team in any sport at one point, and we finally were rewarded with a championship in 2019. I personally went to the parade (and when Vince Dunn fell on me, I was on fucking cloud-nine; still one of the best sports moments I've ever had).

When the Rams moved to St Louis we flew in for at least one game a year. I have to say that St Louis is such a nice place to visit. More often than not we took in a Cardinal game as well. No fans more gracious even to us Dodger faithful. Incredible stadium.

As a crewmember we use to stay downtown and that was an awesome overnight. Actually watched Cal Ripken Jr break the record while watching it on TV from the Holiday Inn tower overlooking the arch. Such a special moment.

I feel blessed to be a Rams fan. It has brought me so much joy in so many unexpectable ways.

As others have said the only saving grace of having a load of them in the stadium (if that’s the case) is that they’ll get to see their team get the shit kicked out of them (hopefully) and all that with @SWAdude leading the charge in the stands. COYR!!

I do recall attending a SF @ STL game around 2014. There were a shocking amount of Niner fans there. That team just travels well. They have a very rich history with the likes of Joe Montana and Steve Young winning five Super Bowls. Never going to phase them out.

Many of those are bandwagon whiner fans jumping on after googling their "very rich history." Then when bragging go "we won this that etc," without any first hand experience. Just desperate for a winner and wanting to jump on the ride. I brought this up before, but I was in checkout before the 2013 SB vs Ravens and one of the clerks was bragging to a coworker. He goes "We'll win 3 Super Bowls in a row because that's the Niner way!" Niner way WTF?? He was like 19, I looked him in the eye and shot back "You haven't even won 1 yet." He looked back at me with surprise and stopped crowing immediately. As a typical whiner fan he was projecting delusional nonsense. Does anyone want to punch a whiner fan in the face like I do? Shutting them up is a nice alternative. Really really hope that happens this Sunday.

Yeah McVay does get lauded more while Rat Face Jr has had worse records with injuries (and bad play). So the media seems to love the young McVay narrative more and whiner fans are sick of it. I get it. We had to hear about Walsh and his stupid scripted plays every game and what a genius he was too.

But it was surprising to me when I first saw some anti-McVay hate from other fans. Here's this positive successful likeable coach that brings in a positive environment and winning atmosphere to a (formerly) bad team. Always has nice words for the opposing players and coaches. What's not to like? It's not like he's calling out the opposition or having his players play dirty and diving at the opposing teams legs during end of game kneeldowns. It's just pure jealousy.

I’m okay with young fans picking a winner as their favorite NFL team. One of the reasons I picked the Rams in 1971-72 was because they were good. The horns snd Roman Gabriel being the others. But once you pick a team you Have to stick with them. Through good times and bad times. That’s why I am a Rams fan and not an LA Ram/Anaheim Ram/StLouis Ram fan. You can have any number of teams you like but you only get ONE favorite NFL team.

Oh man, my Dad bought me the kids "Rams" football package for x-mas in 1969 that had the helmet, pads and pants.

My dad bought me that uni in '67. I promptly went out to our stucco wall and bashed my helmet into it so it would like like it was game worn. Well..... It didn't. Just scratched up. But that was ok. I was 5 and sporting my Rams gear. Cool shit when I was a kid.

But, this (lack of game attendance/fan support) has been happening since the 1970’s though….so……

We stopped by a gas station off the freeway somewhere, general area of Universal, and they had a Rams SB Champions cap on one of the spinning racks. The official silver and black one that the players wore after the win. Quickly bought it, but was surprised how easy it was to get. It was really ironic that the colors of it are mainly silver and black, with the classic blue and yellow Ram helmet in front, but it's the one the Rams all put on during the celebration.

I wore that hat the last two weekends. Guess I gotta wear it tomorrow too.

I don't get this impression some fans had that there wasn't any Rams attendance from the 70's on in LA? Once in a while you hear that and wonder why they want to think that. I admit starting in 90 or 91 when that bitch owner started screwing up the team to move it there was a noticeable difference. But the fans rocked those places in the 70's and 80's.

Damn straight you have to wear that hat. I have two of those. One is still new in the wrapper. I am going to the game wearing my old school royal and yellow Donald Jersey. Never wore that hat to a game. Maybe this is the right time to do so.

Huge high 5 to all the Rams fans who showed up at this game. You made the difference because they had to go silent too!! The place was rocking especially at the end!! After much bashing from whiner fans plus some of our own you guys held up nicely. You brought your A game and helped make the damn whiner fans leave with a BIG FAT L!!!! Can't say enough about the noise from the blue areas we could hear you on TV and Troy even commented on it.

There was still a lot of idiot fans in red but we got our house back!!!
