Tomsula must really suck if everybody would rather quit football than be around him.

But he's been inside as an assistant for a long time. I would tend to doubt that he is a problem.... and probably not as bad as Harbaugh

If the 49ers off season was named after a movie, I'd call it The Perfect Storm.

If someone else said it first, it was a great minds think alike situation. But it was the first thing that came to mind when I thought about Jake.
Sorry I should have used blue font. I knew you were referring to the Bradford injury lol

Whilst I love the 49ers losing players. Didn't Davis have a season ending concussion? I hope there's no lingering effects, sometimes life is more important than watching the 49ers suck. Although watching them suck sure makes life more enjoyable.

NFL 2015: What's Going On With The 49ers?
By Douglas M@thenovelroad

Dumpster-fire.0.0.jpg

When San Francisco's linebacker Chris Borland announced his retirement after only a single NFL season, it seemed well reasoned, but odd at the same time. What no one saw at the time is how it cracked open a floodgate...

Patrick Willis, the perennial All-Pro middle linebacker - followed Borland into AARP-land. Losses in free agency added to woes being felt by first year head coach Jim Tomsula. Justin Smith called it a career after 14 NFL seasons. Frank Gore hit the road to Indianapolis, and Michael Crabtree headed across the Bay to Oakland, while guard Mike Iupati wandered off to Arizona. Now, starting right tackle Anthony Davis announced his retirement, though he left the door open for a return...

Anthony Davis
✔@BamDavis_

I'll be back in a year or so.. I'll be 26 or 27 years old. Im taking this time to allow my Brain and Body time to heal and recoup.

If you want to look at all this honestly, drawing the line back to last season - when rumbling of player/front office dissatisfaction began to bubble up around then-head coach Jim Harbaugh - makes some sense? From a distance, I can almost see the 49ers players were split into two camps: Pro-Harbaugh, and Con-Harbaugh... Then again, is it reasonable to look even further to a dysfunction in the front office and ownership?

One thing seems to have an underlying truth to it though: Players are leaving in droves regardless of money concerns. In an age where players seem overly craven where $$$ dollars are concerned, the 49ers have people simply walking away...

Health concerns - when it comes to playing the game of football - are very real, and I respect anyone who makes the tough choice to stop playing a game that's been something they've loved. Willis' decision to retire is understandable. He's been struggling with foot issues for a number of years, and pain takes a toll on anyone.

Davis' sudden decision is tougher to understand, especially when you consider his hint at a return in the future. Players who are injured get put on Injured Reserve; they don't have to retire to heal. It makes me wonder if Davis' is really injured, or simply trying to gain his release from the 49ers? He did suffer a substantial concussion last season that caused him to miss four games. Is this a response by Davis to resist efforts by the 49ers to force him to play when he thinks he needs more healing time? Could be, but it's just speculation...

Yet, what's going on with the 49ers right now has stepped beyond an aberration. No other NFL team is going through anything close to this. Add in how young the 49ers players who are retiring, and it has to make you wonder what's going on in San Francisco? Not to stir the pot even further, but is anyone else thinking some of this represents a broad showing of a "lack of confidence" in Tomsula/Baalke/owner Ted York?

One of the most storied NFL franchises is in deep trouble. The San Francisco 49ers are still a formidable team, but how much more disarray can they handle?

Scouting the 49ers in-house options to replace RT Anthony Davis
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/49ers/...in-house-options-to-replace-rt-anthony-davis/
Anthony Davis’ exit after five seasons creates yet another hole in the 49ers’ starting lineup, not to mention more intrigue heading into next week’s final minicamp and ultimately training camp.

“No, I don’t think it’s a huge blow to this team. I wouldn’t categorize it that way,” coach Jim Tomsula said Friday. “We’ve got some guys doing some really good things right now that we’re really excited about moving into training camp.”

He could, and has, said the same about the competition at left guard, and running back, and wide receiver, and inside linebacker, and defensive line, and cornerback.

All are spots where new starters must emerge for a team that has only eight starters remaining from their Super Bowl XLVII starting lineup, including punter Andy Lee, whose job is being pursued by fifth-round pick Bradley Pinion.Tomsula said he wasn’t surprised by Davis’ resignation, so to speak, in the wake of his absence from the offseason program.

“Obviously, you look at the things we’ve done here personnel wise and we’re very prepared for this,” Tomsula said. “We drafted a guy (Trent Brown), and we have two guys that have played, three (unspecified) guys that have experience playing the right tackle position we feel really good about.”

Here is a look at the 49ers’ in-house options to replace Davis at right tackle:
*Alex Boone (6-foot-8, 300 pounds, 5th year): Moving back from right guard is an option, and that could help Boone increase his push for a richer contract, either from the 49ers in the form of an extension or next season as a free agent. Or do the 49ers prefer to keep him at guard to develop someone else at right tackle? Boone has missed offseason workouts for a second straight year, training instead with former NFL lineman LeCharles Bentley. Boone is expected to attend next week’s mandatory minicamp. He started the past three season at right guard, having been converted from tackle, where he played at Ohio State and in his first two 49ers seasons as a backup. “Alex has always been a possibility at either tackle,” Tomsula said.
*Erik Pears (6-8, 316, 9th year): Of his 86 career starts (with five teams), 58 starts have come at right tackle. His versatility had him poised to compete for the vacant spot at left guard. His experience at right tackle could make him the front-runner to replace Davis. Pears did not practice Friday and instead attended the birth of his child. “Pears has obviously played more tackle, right tackle, in this league than he’s played guard so we feel really good there,” Tomsula said.

*Brandon Thomas (6-3, 317, 1st year): He’s the presumed favorite to start at left guard, assuming his surgically repaired knee cooperates. He was Clemson’s left tackle in 2012 and 2013, earning All-ACC honors. GM Trent Baalke, earlier this offseason, praised how well Thomas blocked 2014 No. 1 overall draft pick Jadeveon Clowney when they faced off in college. “All you have to do is watch his game against Clowney a year ago when they played each other. He played very well at left tackle against Clowney,” Baalke said before this year’s draft. “Can he align at tackle? He’s proven in the SEC he can against the No. 1 pick in last year’s draft. Would we feel comfortable putting him out there? Yeah, but we also have Joe Staley sitting out there, Anthony Davis on the other side and a hole to fill inside.”
*Trent Brown (6-8, 355, rookie): He’d be overachieving to go from seventh-round draft pick to rookie starter. But he’s been lining up with the starting unit in organized team activities, gaining confidence with each rep. The 49ers’ possible switch to a zone-blocking scheme would be familiar to Brown from his junior college days before Florida, he said. Brown said his weight remains about the same but he’s added muscle thanks to the strength and conditioning program this past month. Veterans (and second-year lineman Marcus Martin) seem to be taking Brown under their wing, and he says they’ve taught him to calm down between plays despite the up-tempo approach.
“Trent Brown’s got tremendous ability. He does,” Tomsula said. “A lot of development needs to take place, absolutely. Really like the guy, the person. I like the way he’s working. He’s got a lot of work, we’ve got a lot of work to do. I’m not looking at you now telling you Trent Brown is going to start at right tackle, let’s not make any mistakes there. I’m not telling you he won’t, but he’s got a lot of work to do. His potential, his development is really exciting.”
*Justin Renfrow (6-6, 310, 1st year): Signed after last month’s tryout at the rookie minicamp, Renfrow spent last year’s training camp with the Arizona Cardinals, got cut Aug. 25, and played the final month of last season on the Green Bay Packers practice squad. He was undrafted out of Miami, where he transferred after three seasons at Virginia.
*Chris Martin (6-5, 303, 1st year): Undrafted a year ago out of Central Florida, Martin spent training camp last year with the Houston Texans, then served on the New England Patriots’ and Texans’ practice squads before landing on the 49ers’ in December. Among the 49ers he’s bonded with is outside linebacker Aaron Lynch.
*Patrick Miller (6-7, 289, rookie): Undrafted out of Auburn, he saw action at left tackle on the second-string unit Friday. He played right tackle at Auburn and started 20 games, though only six last season as he battled an ankle injury. Not invited to February’s scouting combine, he had only 16 bench reps at Auburn’s pro day, according to the Montgomery Advertiser.
*Andrew Tiller (6-4, 324, 3rd year): He’s more likely a guard, and he lined up on the left side there with the starting unit Friday. He joined the practice squad last October and got promoted to the active roster for the Dec. 14 loss at Seattle. He previously had stints on the San Diego Chargers and Green Bay Packers practice squads. The New Orleans Saints drafted him in the sixth round in 2012 out of Syracuse.

This will be interesting to see how this works out. It was a very wise move by their last seasons HC who is now gone to draft the injured OT Brandon Thomas very late in the 2014 draft. This newly drafted ORT is one large man.

Some of it is truly legit situations, like Borland.

But absolutely this front office is making a mess. It's going to take them years to fix it... because they don't even realize it's happened.

I thinking that there is something wrong with all of them. Something in the water?

California plant transforming sewage into drinking water.
June 4, 2015, 7:40 AM|In the midst of California’s historic drought, cities and towns are looking for any source of water they can find. That includes a water recycling process some call “toilet to tap.” Ben Tracy reports.

Can't fault a player for needing a break away from the game - especially if its a brain issue

sometimes life is more important than football.
....I'm still laughing inside at the niners though.
there has to be something crazy dysfunctional going on over there.
