I thought there was a rule that if the defender pushes the receiver out of bounds in mid-air that it was considered a catch.

Nah, that was changed a while back. they have to come down in bounds. What I was thinking was any part of the body except the hands contacting the ground in bounds is considered a catch. Like in the end zone.

I could be wrong.
