One area we'll undoubtedly feel Akers' return is in the passing game out of the backfield. As amazing as Michel has been he's a shitty pass catcher. So Akers being in there will cause a lot of threat in that short dumpoff underneath (where Michel has been meh), as well as your wheel and option routes out of the backfield.

So my guess is we see Akers in the backfield on passing downs. And tbh that should make for one badass offensive backfield to have Michel in there on run downs and Akers when you want to open shit up.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see him at all again this week..McVay seems to be walking back his optmism about how ready he might really be just a bit..Of course, to pay attention to what I think, is all too often senseless folly...A little self degradation is sometimes good for the soul, so that's mine for this week.. My soul feels a little better already...
Where do you see him walking anything back? I don’t see it and have not heard anything like that.

This game is probably gonna be the big afternoon game since they moved Dallas/Philly to Saturday night and Chargers/Raiders to SNF.

Broncos/Chiefs to Saturday afternoon b/c I have no idea why.

The Rams need this one to show themselves that no team has “their number” and can’t be beat.

I feel really good about this matchup. The Rams are a much better team right now than the group SF beat, in terms of both lines and how physical they are playing. They have a 2 seed riding on this. They have 5 losses plus listening to the whiners talk shit all backed up. It's at home. This game is going to receive singular focus by the entire roster IMO.

So I'm thinking the 9ers might be walking into a buzzsaw here.

Totally agree. I also think Donald is sick of hearing about him being invisible in these games and is going to be a major force in this game.

This bend don't break defense don't work well against teams that run the ball well. The idea behind bend don't break is not to give up the big play. Well running teams love getting 7,8,9 yards on first down running the ball. For bend don't break defense you give up a lot of yards behind the 20 yard lines but stop them in the red zone. If you can't stop them running the ball between the 20 yard lines, you're not going to stop them in the red zone.
I think the Rams defense has got to play lb'ers closer to los and shutdown the run and at least bump the receivers before letting them out. DBs at least get up within 3-4 yards from los.
Stop the run first.

I feel good about this game. Particularly being at home. A few false starts and confusion with noise should put the Niners in the hole so we can play our game.

Also our run defense has lock down since Gaines took over.

I also expect Mcvay to be in Morris ear about how to solve the Deebo\Kittle problem.

And if Lance plays goodnight. Donald and co. Will feast.

I think all of us are sick of hearing about how they figured out how to neutralize AD and how they own the Rams by being the more physical team.
There have been a couple butt kickins during this streak but for the most part it’s been competitive. The 9ers can boast about their “dominance” vs the rams but they don’t want to talk about how they’ve had a losing record every year save the SB year.

I'm thinking this too. I expect a performance similar to Tampa earlier this year. Just need to not have a letdown the following week.

If we lose - I will officially be planning on two losses to the Niners every season going forward
