Glad Bellinger is back, not happy about Grisham and the overall lack of improvement. Mostly addition by subtraction
Alas, its something to look forward to

Well almost halfway through the season and the 4th best record in MLB, best in the A.L.

Not glad Judge was injured but glad Spencer Jones is up. And they had to bring up the Martian because of Grisham going down. I hope they keep both up when Grisham comes back and send down Schumann. The guy has showed me NOTHING. The roster is extremely versatile. Now if we could get any production out of the catching position, we'll be fine.

I'd be good with another Dodgers/Yankme WS. Maybe you guys could actually be competitive in this one.

Well if that happens, that would mean you made it to three straight!!! Joining great teams like the Yankees (3 times**), Oakland (2 times) and Baltimore. Only Oakland (1) and the Yankees (3) won three straight. But are you sure you want to meet the Yankees there? You guys have a whopping .333 win percentage vs the Yankees in the Series. :sunglasses:Right now, I'd be concerned with Atlanta if I were a Dodger fan!! :laugh4:

**Those 3 times include 4 straight (36-39) and 5 straight (49-52). Hell they were 1 rare Mariano Rivera blown save from doing 4 straight from 1998-2001!!! :explode1:

Serious though, I'd love another shot at LA.

BTW, thanks for beating the Rays the last 2 nights. Really helps us out. :party2:

What have you done lately? Getting to sound like a certain fan base that will go unnamed.

But to answer your question… Yes. Absolutely. To me, the classic WS match up will always be the Dodgers v Yankmees. It just screams BASEBALL !!! And of course both our teams need to get there first.

Yes I know. Haven't won since 2009; a 16 year drought. We've done that a few times and when we come out of it, we usually go on a run.

After an 11 year drought from 1965-1975; went to 3 straight and 4 in 6 years.

After a 14 year drought from 1982-1995; went to 6 of the next 8.

In a 16 year drought, 14 if that appearance two years ago has some company in 2026 and beyond; time will tell.....

I think this is the best starting staff since that prior 6/8 run. Now if we can fix the bullpen we might have a shot.

And though Boone gets a lot of grief from Yankee fans, missing Cole up until a couple weeks ago, Rodon the same, Stanton all year, Judge all of June, Fried for the last few weeks, and now Grisham out, their record is about 2 games shy of the MLB leading Dodgers. He's doing a fine job IMO. We'll see.

Let's be honest here. Since Dodger fans stopped complaining about league high payrolls like the Yankees and cheered LAD for going all in, damn the cost, they've gone to 3 of the last 6 WS.:laugh4:

And now every other team in the league is bitching and whining about how the Dodgers are ruining baseball. It's hard to take any of them seriously when it seems that the only chant anyone knows around the country is "Beat LA". It doesn't even matter which sport. It just makes me want my Doyers to "buy" more championships. But of course, any true fan knows it doesn't work that way. It still takes a lot of little things to fall in place to even get there and then you need to follow through. I will say though. No matter what, it will take one hell of a series to beat last year. I've been watching baseball for almost 60 years and I can't recall a better one. Of course, going to game 3 didn't hurt.

Cheers and Go Dodgers!!!

Screw the complainers. They're only complainers until their team does the same thing. Then they don't want to hear any complaints!

I think any series that goes 6 or more is a good series.

Knowing I'm partial, you might think my favorite was the 1977 series, including Reggie's 3 homer game 6, that got the bombers back on the map, or 1996 which did it again after a long drought. But no, my favorite is 1978. The Yankees beat Kansas City for the third straight time in the 5 game LCS and it looked like LA was going to get their payback going up 2 games to none. Then with Guidry on the mound, Nettles did his magic act (which might have been the best ever 3rd base performance in a game, no apologies to Brooks Robinson) and it was a series once again. Instead of game 5, the pivotal game was game 4 because with a Dodger win, it would have been 3-1 and not a likely NYY Championship. In the 5th the Dodgers took a 3 zip lead on Reggie Smith's homer of Ed Figueroa. Dick Tidrow held the Dodgers in check while the Yanks tied it, then Gossage took over. Those two held LA to 3 singles over the last 5 innings. In the 10th, seriously under rated Roy White walked, in between pop outs by Rivers and Munsen, then Reggie singled off Welch and Sweet Lou singled White in with the winning run in the 10th. Game 5 was a blowout 12-2 win by the Yanks and game 6 wasn't much different (7-2). That was also the Series Brian Doyle subbing for the injured Willie Randolph hit .438 (7 for 16) out of the 8th slot and Dent hit .417 with 7 rbi out of the 9th slot. The aforementioned underrated Roy White hit .333 (8 for 24 with a homer, 4 rbi and 9 runs scored).

But the really amusing part was after the series listening to a miked up Lasorda saying, "Brian Freaking Babe Doyle" (or something to that affect) on his way out to make a pitching change late in the series.

IIRC, the Dodgers and Yankees have faced off vs each other more than any other two teams. 12 times in 124 years and most of the time, it exciting and competitive. Eight of the 12 times it went 6 games or more (7 four times).
