Damn, so Arash Markazi gives us clickbait to bring attention to his company's (The Sporting Tribune) expansion into football and people want to jump all over him. Damn . . . .
Yeah, Arash has been in this market a while, mostly working the NBA. Eric Lambkins II is one of his writers and seemingly the only Rams writer. Arash has at least 3 guys writing on the Raiders. Go figure.
Sure, this is probably like Ramona Shelburne suddenly doing Dodger stories (oh, look!). The Sporting Tribune could turn into a useful resource, or not.

Dang 4 years $40M per year for a DT. That’s nothing to spit at.
Especially a defensive tackle with known character concerns.
This could backfire on them in a major way.

I'm thinking:
1 yr / $40m + incentives up to $50m
This informs the Kobie Turner extension. I was guessing he would be in the lower $30s but now it may approach $40 mil per year.
I love Kobie T but no way does he impact a game like Carter. Is he worth 25 - 30 mil? Probably. 40 mil? No way. But what do I know?
I sure as hell hope not. IF he's coming back, he's coming back to get another ring and have fun playing alongside Garrett (I thought). If he comes back and demands #1 DT money, he is hurting our SB chances with the salary - i.e. God forbid someone goes down and we need to make a move. We are in need of money to resign some very good players.
I gotta believe Donald and the Rams can come to an agreement on a contract that pays him sufficiently for the role he will assume. And if that role were to increase build some performance and or usage bonuses into the contract.
