Forgot about Peters. I think by the time Talib got here he was not considered a problem. Was a solid SB winning vet. I think he won a SB in Denver?

Ramsey wanted out of Jax, but was never a problem here. So their vetting was on point.

The biggest gamble then was Peters and that was in McVays 2nd year as was Talib. So can't think of anyone over the last 5 years.

If a high risk guy is taken and turns out to be a model citizen, a lot of people will describe that team as lucking out based on how that player was preceived.

Well that's means they've been luckier than most teams. Does it mean they're better at vetting everyone? Who really knows, they just probably don't let certain things slide that other teams feel confident they'll be able to reel in. Keep in mind that when you talk about Reid, you just have to talk about his son. He's given him chances and so its just how Reid is as a person. It's also probably why his players like him so much. Regardless of a player's history, all it ever takes is a player to simply do something stupid and the team looks bad for it. Unfortunately money and fame can change people for better or worse.

I'm sure everyone has to depend on luck in life. There's a reason right place, right time plus wrong place, wrong time exist. You're talking to someone that got hit by a car during a police chase at 5 years old and is still alive. I'm lucky, but sometimes when I walk thru the door and hear the old lady yapping, I know my luck is about to turn :laugh4:

Oh, and now I think this is a different topic slightly but I ABSOLUTELY believe in luck. Especially when it comes to money. Don't get me wrong, working hard, being passionate about something and networking well will absolutely provide you with a good life but things like generational wealth or things right below it really do take some luck to find.

Like being in the right life cycle to refi a home during the pandemic. Being a software engineer 2010-2020 but not now. Jumping on the right startup at the right time. Entering the job market as a kid pre 2008 vs after 2008. Hell living now then at any other time in this world is a bit of luck. For must of the life cycle of this world you would have died of famine, disease or war (and it wouldn't be because you were fighting in it).

So much of luck - especially when it comes to money - is being in the right place and time during a "things" lifecycle and there's just not much people can do about that. And I hope that in seeing my luck I can be a little more generous with those around me and not be suck a dick about how special and "hardworking" I am.

Though I know that many on this board think I'm quite "special."

Edit: Glad to hear you were okay from the police chase. Hope it was the cops that tagged you and you got a pretty penny from it!

I truly believe that culture plays a big role in the “luck” the Rams have had. Andy Reid has always had players with big egos that showed through. From TO to McCoy to Jackson, now Mahomes, Kelce…

There’s a reason players like Marcus Peters leave teams like the Chiefs after a fractured relationship, only to come to us and you don’t hear a peep from them. There’s tons of examples too. Peters, Talib, Ramsey, Suh, Devante (with Oakland), I’m sure there’s more I’m missing…

That’s not a shot at Reid or really any other coach as much as it is an endorsement for Sean McVay. I think Andy Reid is a hell of a coach and is no doubt a hall of famer, but I think McVay is a true leader amongst men. Players want to do better when playing here. Devantes comments about it last year solidified that theory for me.

When you’re in an environment where you’re truly playing for the guy next to you, that carries over to your personal life. Relationships matter on and off the field.

There are both Cuteness and Adorable factors that weigh heavily in ROD's Vetting Process.

My guess is that both you and So Ram scored High on those Matrices.
Although, @RamFan503 and @CGI_Ram have been know to take the occasional bribe ... that's how I got in.
