Don’t get me wrong, i prefer it as well…

But when someone’s posted “this thread is glazing me”…even in jest… I had to laugh a sinister laugh…

I really don’t think anyone would say that if they knew the origins of the phrase.

It’s an autistic interest of mine… like every time I hear “Rock and Roll”… LOL… or the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame…LMAO!!!

I have an excellent donut place near where I live in Old Town Florissant called "Old Town Donuts". They're rated as one of the best donut places in the country, and they're great at more than just donuts (they also make all sorts of sweet breads). Absolutely delicious, and now this donut discussion is making me want them.

It's OK.
Your response just caught me off-guard. I always thought of ROD in a certain way ...

We have this roaming truck called Duck Donuts near a place where I work in Virginia and they are some awesome donuts.

Hey don't be upset you don't understand glazing lol and yes Coliseum Ram has most definitely done some fine glazing. Nothing wrong with him feeling that confident, I just simply don't. I'm not even acting like there is no way Simpson can't be better, I'm saying there's no way to tell because I'm talking about when they come out as prospects next year. Will any QB or multiple QBs be deemed a better prospect come draft time vs what Simpson was preceived as? Hell if I know because no one does. It just seems some folks, not all, are getting butt hurt because Simpson is now a Ram and we should be praising him unconditionally. I'm not even talking about it like we should have drafted a QB next year so you are way off on your response regarding that part. I'm talking simply about comparing college prospects not about who we should have drafted. Predicting the future for how good QB prospects is crazy. You literally gave an example of the perceived top QBs that took a step back from this draft class. As far as that Atlanta pick goes, no, not everyone thought it would be for a QB but of course the possibility existed. Stop making up shit when I never said anything about any prospect being better. You're definitely misunderstanding me as bad as I misunderstood Rams Ts.......by the way my bad bro....... still wanna know who you would have picked though haha
Sure seemed to me you were trying to insinuate that anyone thinking Simpson was a better prospect than any of the top ‘27 QBs coming out is being ridiculous. If that is not what you meant then different story. Not making shit up. I went back and read your whole string about it. It still looks that way to me.

As far as who I would have picked, I said it many times. It certainly doesn’t mean I’m right and I’m probably not. But I was more leaning toward taking a more impactful weapon with our first and taking someone like Payton (for example) later on so he could sit and learn for a year or two.

And no - I’m not glazing you.

I don't eat doughnuts usually but when I do its there
Yeah. I actually rarely eat donuts. But when I do, I tend to go a little crazy and put myself in a sugar coma. I like the Jelly Donuts on Virginia and have gone there too many times late at night after downtown drinking.

Well I'm telling ya, its not at all what I meant. My thing is there is zero way to predict the future as to how good or even bad next year's crop of QBs will be perceived vs this year's crop which includes Simpson. I mean there's a reason some teams bust at QB because it isn't always easy to project. I'm with you on wanting a weapon because I want to really want to do everything to win the Superbowl this year because winning a Superbowl isn't guaranteed plus we were literally one game away. Just like you said for yourself, I could be completely wrong and I'm totally fine with that. The Rams took their shot aka risk and it'll either pay off or it won't. And yes, I'm not taking a glazing from anyone on here, this isn't a Diddy party man lol

Where's @-X- ? I want the donut argument to start again!

By the way, cream filling is the best, and I will brook no arguments! :P

That was a euphemism derived from the porn term for ejaculating on a woman’s face.

The guy would “glaze” her like a donut.

It became a pejorative term for liking someone (typically or something about them) so effusively that the inference was they were so excited that they were gonna euphemistically ejaculate all over their face or “glaze” them… think Collinsworth glazing Mahomes…

So yeah…that’s what it means… it’s origins are REALLY crude and like Biggie said… “If you don’t know, now you know…”
Actually, it would be Collinsworth sucking Mahomes off.

I have been staying out of the discussion over whether Simpson was the right move and/or a good selection/prospect; and will continue to do so. However, I have been following the exchange on this topic; and was similarly confused when I saw the term 'Glazing' the other day.

While I am familiar with the word as it relates to glass installation; and, I am a HUGE FAN of Glazed Donuts, the use of the term in this context also left me confused. So, I looked it up!

Glazing ...
Internet Slang: Derived from early 2020s social media, this means showering someone with excessive, often biased or insincere praise. It is used to criticize someone for "doing too much" to hype up a person, often used in sports or pop culture contexts.

Not surprised to be unaware of a term tied to recent social media but I was happy to learn something new.

I remember back in the Bradford/Suh debate there were fans who were actually rooting for Bradford to fail so they can say i told you so. Even if it meant the team failed. I recommend anyone who is not in favor of Simpson to not fall into that trap. Its makes for a miserable fandom. Simpson is our guy now. And we have a special season to look forward too.
The pre-season should be a lot more interesting to watch.

Oh I remember. I left the Herd board over that debate. I defended the Bradford pick just based on the position he played and it was worth the gamble. I got suspended for arguing with one of the admins who was a critic of the pick.

I thought I made good points that got him twisted in a pretzel trying to attack the selection of a QB. So the guy suspended me for 2 weeks. So I never want back after that. Looks like that site is slowly dying now anyway.
