I think one thing became obvious from yesterday and that is no way are the Rans keeping both Verse & Young. So obviously Young will be the one likley gone next year unless he is moved before that.

Jaelon Phillips getting $30M a year. Daniel Hunter getting a huge extension. Edge rushers are getting near QB money and can't see how any team can pay $50M apy plus for 2 edge rushers.

So dont be surprised if the Rams use a top 100 pick on a promising edge.

Translation: "You signed Linderbaum out from under us so FU Raiders" and "OH Crap! we have lost too many Free agents so lets take back our picks we gave to the Raiders." After all, NFL stands for Not For Long.

I doubt that. Raiders had an absurd amount of cap space.
Not just about cap space. It can also be about out of pocket spending. He has a $32M base salary this year. If they just handed out $75M or so in bonuses alone, then that could be an issue for ownership.

On this Maxx Crosby thing, was initially willing to give Baltimore the benefit of the doubt because of how the Lakers were seemingly vindicated on the Mark Williams non-trade. But Maxx's Doc, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, in commenting on the timing of the physical, could strengthen the inference that Baltimore knew the kind of risk/results that they were going to get from the physical, and that they used those risk/results as pretext to kill the deal.

Dr. Neal ElAttrache:
“Maxx Crosby is doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee. He is certainly on track in his planned program….he feels very well and is already much improved compared to before surgery.
“We truly respect the work of the Ravens staff with Maxx regarding the contract physical exam. We also understand the challenge the staff faces when tasked to provide a future risk assessment based on an evaluation early in the recovery process. This is especially challenging when dealing with an elite player like Maxx considering the level of commitment necessary for a team to obtain him. The timing of this assessment is unfortunate because the apparent risk will lessen as his recovery progresses and his return to performance over the next few months becomes clear.
“At this point, Max is doing an excellent job attacking his rehab and his knee is responding very well. We look forward to Maxx returning to his elite level of performance this season as planned and for several more to come.”

Yeah the football Gods will punish them for this. They’ve go bad karma coming their way.
I’m sure Gooodellbot will get right on this and make the proper correction just like how he investigated the officiating and broadcast booth inconsistencies for week 16’s Rams at Seahawks game last year.

Right, right?
