I don't want to sign him because this is the first year since his rookie year that he's actually produced. Contract year, and all that.
No doubt. I want nothing to do with Pitts.

In the 2025 NFL regular season, Kyle Pitts was credited with 4 drops on targeted passes, according to advanced receiving statistics from Pro Football Focus (PFF)

same with 2023 and 2024.

4 drops isn't bad. For some reason I thought it was more.
I was going based off of pro-football-reference but clearly they track drops differently although they have him with 4 in 2023 in 2024 as well. But yeah still not that many and not the first time I've heard that. The Falcons haven't really given fans a reason to watch and drops aren't tracked in fantasy football and so I think assumptions have been made based off of how much of a disappointment he's been in fantasy since he was drafted.

Why not just extend Parkinson? Think there's a decent chance they do that.
I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of the offseason, I think that's probably a great idea but also, maybe worth seeing how draft falls with a deep class their first?

Then again, Rams seem to operate from a bird in hand offseason mentality so I could see an extension before other options take shape.

Maybe, although I don't think Cook is a great comparison. Cook was a very rigid, robotic, one-speed runner with very little wiggle or agility and inconsistent hands. Pitts is a much, much more fluid athlete and natural receiver.

However I will not be banging this drum because I have seen him take plays off as a blocker which is extremely frustrating but does have the ability in that regard.

What I will say is that we don't ever see athletes of this caliber hit the open market, I don't think Atlanta has been featuring Pitts like they should have been, 13 personnel looks to be the future for this team moving forward, and I think we'll be looking to make a Davante Adams style splash for that last Stafford SB push. Call it more of a soft prediction than what I want to see happen.
When I compare Pitts to Cook, it's as what I think he'll be once he has that fat contract. The fact that he only gave a shit in his rookie year and contract year concerns me a great deal. It's the same with Cook; he gave a shit in his contract year, Fisher signed him to an extension, and lo and behold, he suddenly gave less of a shit than a constipated sloth in molasses.

Pitts takes so many plays off as a blocker or when he knows he's not the first option. That's a cardinal sin in a McVay offense, and why I'd doubt he'd sign off on that. If he does sign off on Pitts, that's a different story; he'll have had to have done his homework on Pitts.

If he hits the market, he'll have no shortage of suitors, that's true. I just don't want the Rams to be one of them.

I'd rather sign Doubs/Pierce or trade a Day 3 pick for Wicks or a youngish receiver who's been pushed down the depth chart. Hell, I'd rather re-sign Higbee than go for Pitts. At least he knows the offense and gives a shit as a blocker.

It’s his unenthusiastic blocking for me.

Read an article saying Pickens wants to come play for the Rams and would give them a discount. Don’t know how much validity there is to it.

With his refusal to block and his character issues? I don't see it.

Pickens is way to much a Me not We guy who has potential to be a locker room cancer. I don't think he is a McVay type of guy. I'd be happy to get Pitts, but, almost zero chance they don't at minimum tag him. TE tag isn't terribly spendy. They are not letting him walk.

That’s the culture that Tomlin built. Rams locker room would get him right

Pick #29
2027 first round pick
Byron Young

Too much? Too little? Not worth it?
Not sure the Raiders would want a guy needing a new big contract, who also came off a year dealing with a bum knee that curtailed his production.
