For my own sanity, I wish the Rams would settle their OL contract wise. 4/5th pending free agents and other guy with BCs that could sideline him at any unknown time.

I’m guessing the wait is post draft. Why show your hand. Idk. I just hate the unknown - especially at such an import spot (whole OL).

I’ll feel better with 1-2 drafted OL and 1-2 guys extended.

I think he is a left tackle all day. He is 20 years old and while he is 350 - he can move. I think he will be gone by 13 though.

I don't ever trust players at that weight, especially not in the first round. 330 or even 340 is one thing, but 370 (which is what Proctor's been at) is a whole 'nother animal that not even Jordan Mailata (who really is a unicorn at left tackle) has been at.

He would struggle with our blocking scheme, because he can't get to the specific areas to block in space in time (which would be helped if he cut down weight, but again, 350/360/370 is hard to lose a lot of weight with, especially with NFL O-linemen like that), and while he has the feet of a dancing bear, he can't deal with explosive speed or bend (which he'd have to do at left tackle - hence me saying he's a right tackle only) and his technique (dealing with stunts, counter-moves) is poor at the moment.

Proctor is a no-go for me for those reasons. He's got potential for days, but I don't think he ever realizes it with his lacking technique and his fluctuating weight.

Our beat writer Nate Atkins final mock:
1.13 - Freeling, OT

Traded up to 2.41 for 2.61 and a '27 4th
2.41 - Denzel Boston, WR

Traded down to 3.98 for 4.137
3.98 - Kyle Louis, LB

Traded 4.137, 6.207 for 3.100
3.100 - Nussmeier, QB

7.232 - Red Murdock, LB
7.251 - Fernando Carmona, G
7.252 - Latrelll McCutchin, CB

Don't love Freeling but see the reasoning, prefer other OT's but at least Freeling has LT ability. Boston falling to 41 is unlikely, but would absolutely love a trade up to get him there. Louis I like a lot. Nuss at 100 I'm into also.

Honestly, not bad at all.
I would take that draft in a heartbeat.
Besides Freeling and Boston, I like the Carmona pick as well.
He has been steady as a collegiate Tackle, but if he’s more suited to move inside as a pro, so be it.

Besides getting a top WR from this class, the Rams solidify the OL for this year and protect themselves against FA next.

Love Carmona as well. Murdock is one of my favorite late-round picks; set the NCAA record for the most fumbles in a career.

Someone told me that no one will want to trade up, not even for OTs.

Hmm...Who was that?

If you're referring to me that's not what I said at all. I was asking a few people who said the OT"s weren't good but also were saying that people would trade up for them. So if you are insinuating me that's a swing and a miss.

The ultimate comedy of it is here's him responding to me talking about the so called lack of 1st round talents then saying the same people talking about not enough first round talents are talking about a lot of teams wanting to trade up and how that didn't make sense who is going to trade up if there isn't a 1st round player worth the 13th pick? Even he mentions it's for a specific OT even though the talk at that time was how there wasn't any really good OT's.

The issue is who's trading up and for what? And if you trade down from 13 you aren't getting Sadiq hell we might not get him at 13.

One of the worst lines ever is "there are only X amount of 1st round graded players" and those people are out parroting that there aren't a lot of 1st round players in this draft so I can't see with that line of though that people want to trade up in the 1st.
It would be player specific. I could see an OL needy team like the Lions ir Texans wanting to get one of the top OL that should be there at 13

I was with you on this until this afternoon.
I was watching some draft show on NFL Network that had a segment on Proctor. Although he looked tubby at 370 lbs, at the combine he was something like 353 lbs, and actually looked really good - shirt off.
He's just a gigantic guy that can move. I wouldn't be opposed at 13.

Still very concerned about the 370 lbs. and being out of shape that he showed at Alabama - at the start of the 2025 season, no less. To his credit, he worked on his body during the season and got down to 352 lbs., but I cannot trust a player that heavy in the first round.

Maybe that's me being gun-shy with numerous other players at that weight who have failed or have eaten themselves out of the league, but I cannot trust a prospect, particularly an O-line/D-line who was completely out of shape during his last college season in the first round; it's why I've even soured on Dontay Corleone at his weight for his size and health issues.

It's incredibly rare to find a Jordan Mailata who can carry that weight, and that was mostly pure luck and good scouting by the Eagles. Is Proctor the same guy as Mailata? I do not think he is, I think he's a right tackle only, and like I've mentioned, the weight is only part of the problem; the lacking technique - which, at a school like Alabama, an offensive lineman should know - is also concerning.

Yes, he's incredibly athletic for his size, but I have issues with offensive linemen who lack technique (why guys like Ereck Flowers and Alex Leatherwood failed) as well as have significant documented weight issues and issues being out of shape (why Isaiah Wilson failed, along with problems off the field and why Andre Smith was a disappointment at #6 overall).

That's a scary pick at #13, and not something I'd like, personally.

Chill.... just pointing out you and a few others said there was no one worth trading up for. It's okay. Relax.
