EDIT: Again, nothing against you, 12. Just shocked that the price the Bengals paid for a nose tackle. It's stupid to pay that much for a nose tackle and then give him that kind of money.

And before anyone says anything about Kobie Turner, at least he's consistent against the run and rushes the passer well. Lawrence stops the run. That's literally it. And they're giving a pick of a younger player that they could use to shore up their defense for a nose tackle who doesn't even rush the passer well and give him a boatload of money in the process.

It's a weak draft, and Lawrence is the rare NT who can be a force against the run and rush the passer well. I get why Cincy would do it.

They need defense. No blue chip defenders are expected to be there by the 10th selection.

The blue chip defensive players - I’m assuming here - would be

Reese
Bailey
Bain
Delane
Styles
Downs

With Mendoza gone that would mean that one of Love, Tate, Maui did not go top 9

I’m guessing they are thinking Maui or Love slip?

Or does one of those blue Chippers not belong?

Bengals are fucking stupid. Hopefully this drives Burrow out of Cincy if they completely suck ass again. That's the only positive I take from this. Gave up a top 10 for Lawrence who will literally not do shit for the Bengals to do well. Guess a sucker is born everyday.

I think several don't have Delane or Bain on the blue chipper list.

Well, he just had his pro day. If teams really are convinced his medicals check out, he should go early. If healthy, he'd be a top 10 pick in any draft.

Dexter Lawrence is a beast and could single handedly improve that defense
Its a score for the Giants no doubt and while it seems like an overpay, Cincy got what they need

I just don't believe that though as he didn't do it for the Giants last year at all. He's a year older and asking for a bigger contract. Giants swindled the Bungles on this one to me. However, with the year still needing to be played, I could be completely wrong too. I get the Bengals defense needs all the help they can get but TBD to see if it works out they way they want.
