That's not a good sign. All of those other QBs sucked except the jury is still out on McCarthy (but it's not looking good for him either).

This tells me they need to rework the whole 1st round grade concept.
Yeah I see stuff like that and I've seen insiders quoting GMs and scouts in a similar manner and it always sounds strange to me.

Like you know there's 32 first round picks and if your grades never align it seems like common sense would tell you to slide the curve lol.

Right. I get the concept, but if on average only 14-16 meet that grade, it's time to rework the curve.

The average should be 30-32 players have a 1st-round grade, bad drafts have 20, and great drafts have 40. Or else it's not a useful metric.

Yeah, when a round equals 32 players, not all will obviously be blue chip players if you equate blue chip with first rd. Top 5 picks are certainly going to have more top quality traits and less questions than picks 28-32 will.

Ah, so if the purpose is to identify how many blue chip players there are, I get it. I never considered the phrases as synonymous.
