So you are calling Gerald Everett a miss and Rapp a hit?

You could also say "misses" like Jefferson & Akers were injury related as opposed to skill issues. Jefferson minis knee issues would probably had been a very solid #2 WR. Lakers, minus his Achilles injury would probably had been a solid RB, in the same mold as Kyren Williams. He just never did much post achillies.

So not sure they can't draft skill guys or even just average at it. In fact the highest drafted skill guy was Ferguson, who was taken in the 40's. So its not like they have blown a number of top 30 or 40 picks on skill guys.
Rapp has been a starter 6 out of 7 seasons for two teams. Everett has started 3 out of 8 seasons for three teams. Rapp has objectively been a more successful draft pick than Everett. However, Everett has been a solid contributor for most of his career, so if we wanted to call him a hit, I'm fine with that.

That still puts the number on offense at 4 out of 8, if we're already counting Ferg as a hit.

You're right. Jefferson and Akers may have been hits, but we don't know that for sure. Just like on the defensive side, Terrell Lewis may have been a hit if not for his injuries. At the end of the day, I just counted as hits those who actually were productive.

The highest drafted skill guy was Everett at pick 44. I did point out that none of the skill positions drafted were 1st round picks, but the counter to that is, only one of the defense picks was a 1st. The reality is, they've gotten the results they've gotten with 2nd and 3rd round picks on both sides.

I'm not saying they're bad drafting offense; I'm saying they're phenomenal drafting defense.
