SO no O”Line - lmao

talk about speed.Merlin & Mojo forget how you buy time on offense.

I also think Ram Fans forget what this ORGANIZATION is about & what they are building.

You think what SEAN MCVAY is giving up isn’t selfless???

I’ve been a Rams Fan a long time.I LOVE where The RAMS are as a FRANCHISE!!! This thing is only getting better over The Years !!!

What does 2027 even look like ? I think The Rams stay within the moment, but also building towards the future.
OL at 13? Absolutely not.

A lot of mock drafts have 4 Buckeyes going in the top 10, how did Ryan Day not win it all? Is he the football version of John Calapari, great recruiter but not a great head coach

That’s only because The 2 best OT’s should be of the Draft Board.

Last thing I am going to do for the next few weeks is to think who The Rams might draft ? I could see The Rams trading out of the 1st rd completely still.

A TE that high would’ve been silly.I can still see The Rams drafting a CB. Sean Mcvay talked about how defenses have changed.

He understands what teams did to The Rams to stop them.

17. Omar Cooper Jr. WR, Indiana

Height: 6-0 | Weight: 199

Cooper made the catch of the year with his acrobatic toe-tap in the back of the end zone for the winner touchdown against Penn State, but he's much more than that highlight. Cooper is an elite route runner who moves well through traffic and dominates the middle of the field. His ability to pick up yards after the catch is equally impressive, which allowed him to rack up 937 yards and 13 touchdowns on 69 catches last season. Cooper has slot and outside alignment experience and versatility, making him an ideal No. 2 receiver.
I wouldn't mind trading down a little and drafting him if it helps to move up in the second

Rams starting offensive line is already set. If offensive line were like other positions, where they rotate in and out, I could see it. But in a championship year it would feel like a waste to have a guy just sitting.

If we were really connected to AJ Brown do you guys think Fields & Boston are "bigger" targets than we expect?

I too am concerned about Cooper, Tyson, and Tate’s blocking skills. All WR in this offense will need to block for our RB room.

Side note: I’d love to see an extension announcement for Tae. He said it himself, don’t leave this organization. Be the bigger man, reduce your cap this year and sign another two years with this organization.

As long as a receiver shows a "want to" I am confident this coaching staff can get them to become a good blocker.

Not quite sure if I'm going to answer your question here but, ideally the Rams want a guy who's got size, speed and ability to run a complete route tree at X.

OF COURSE SO DOES EVERYONE.

AJ, while big can do it all vs a guy like Metcalf who has size and speed but can only run a limited route tree of gos, comebacks, curls, slants or a guy like Keon Coleman who has size but lacks speed and agility so you just have to hope he wins contested catches all the time.

In the past Rams have prioritized speed and complete route running over size at X and there are times where the size of a player makes it harder for them to have the agility and ability to cut well and run routes at varying speeds thereby limiting their ability to play in a timing based offensive system like ours.

We'd obviously like a guy who can do it all like AJ, Sutton, Chase, Tet, etc... but given the restraints of getting a unicorn at X, the Rams have prioritized speed and agility over size in the past with a WR at X.

Question is: who in the draft may be a good fit at X. Tate and Tyson would be quite good fits it seems from just a cursory watch. Some people like Boston, he could be a fit but I have some concerns about his agility and ability to run a full route tree with us.

Been looking at the OL of late and the Tackles are a damn mess. Short arms on some of them. The ones with feet are raw. The one with the perfect frame might have a weight issue. Also several of them are likely to end up at Guard. And the Guards meanwhile are higher quality but the least important position.

And I keep going back to 4 of 5 being FA after this season, and we have a hole at Swing OT.

Jackson's making $25M and is a free agent after the 2027 season. There is a team out after this season.

So who do they sign. McClendon is only 24. Have to think they're gonna ink him.

Which if that is the case that means we'll have bookends signed. Which really makes me want them to go get Linderbaum. That would give us a real nice framework of a futures OL for when Stafford retires in a season (with a Center who can lock down calls for a young QB if necessary) and for this season's run the OL would be fat as hell with talent...

LT: Jackson (27 years old)
LG: <FA Season: Avila>
C: Linderbaum (25 years old)
RG: <FA Season: Dotson>
RT: McClendon (24 years old)

From there let's say they draft Ioane who is a stone wall in pass pro. He challenges Avila in camp. Depth is great at guard. Or they draft one of the OTs at 13, who could cover the swing role this season then move to guard when Avila rolls out.

The Tackle would probably make more sense. But damn I gotta admit Ioane is something. He locks dudes up in there.
Ioane is the best OL in this draft IMO, but, think a swing OT is more of a need for us. We fall apart if AJ has to go out.

Not sure an extension on Adams is in the cards. He is not young buck and once it starts going downhill, it sprints.

Welcome to the big target bandwagon. :laugh3:

And yes Boston is ideal for us in the early going.

I am well aware of McVays like of big targets and have been on the potential of Boston to the Rams. I have had him as the 2nd best fit for our offense for awhile.

I was just wonderg if the AJ news galvanizes or even asserts our intent in this draft.
I know we all had our ideas and often we are close to inline with the overall team building philosophy of our FA but I see this as a possible tell for our immenent future at that position.

This means we "MAY" slot Boston above Lemon and if so it may mean we could move around in the draft, with fields it is a little more flexible and of course tere are others too.

It just struck me as interesting news.

Isn't Ioane also considered a guard for the most part.

And the top OT's are Rights. It seems the OL @ the top of the draft are not LT so not swing per se.

Of the OTs I think Fano and Freeling have the feet and frame combo you want to try to develop a LT. Fano didn't pass protect enough, and Freeling had only the one season playing so strongly, so both come with questions. And you never know how dev is going to turn out. However there are only so many dudes of that size who have the type of athleticism you want. It is a supply/demand issue.

So I don't think the Rams are hot to go OT at 13. But it is possible the board steers them that way.
