I would hate it. But if they do that it means they're not projecting Stafford to be able to handle his shit for a couple more years. Because otherwise that pick gets used to "win another one for 9."- We trade down from 13 to somewhere in the 20's. Pick Simpson with that pick. I think McVay is likely in on Simpson just based on what I've seen from Simpson and his thought process.
He is one of the guys McVay leaned on during his burnout after the 22 season. So he is pretty connected to the Rams.I’m sure he actually does know something. He is generally pretty connected
Excited to see what it is.
Normally I'd say sure -- but, with the Brinks truck the Rams just delivered to McDuffie, I'm not sure we can afford him + all the others we need to pay soon, including Puka. Here's a thought process as i'm killing time until we pick. Let's say the Jags offerred Brian Thomas + #56 for #13. We take it? It'd give us that young deep threat who is proven in the NFL and thus an immediate help for 2026. #56 gives us a pick to use on an OL or iLB (or even CB/Edge).
Granted, it doesn't make any sense why the Jags would want to move on from BT Jr. That's a huge red flag already. further, if Liam doesn't like him, I doubt McVay would. But i'm anxiously awaiting tonight, so let's assume Liam wants a different/specific guy and he assures McVay that BTJ is a stand-up great guy. We say no or yes?
Not expecting a trade but Thomas is on his rookie contract for two more seasons, at a relatively low amount. And, as a former first round pick, his team could exercise the 5th year option for 2028 ... meaning he would not hit free agency until 2029.Normally I'd say sure -- but, with the Brinks truck the Rams just delivered to McDuffie, I'm not sure we can afford him + all the others we need to pay soon, including Puka.
He just reminds me so much of Puka with less size but more juke. Both of them look like they'd risk their lives to catch a pass over the middle and bite and claw to get a big 1st down that we need. Could not hurt to have to Puka's on our squad.I’m torn a bit on Lemon. He has a dog in him which is great. He’s quick. I think he’s a really smart WR too with his abilities and utilizing to the max.
But he’s very much a slot. Is that the best option for us with Puka? There’s also something that rubs me the wrong way with him or odd vibe I get - like he’s disinterested. Maybe it’s his eyes and looking stoned all the time. I’m sure it’s not the case and I’m pretty sure he’s all in with football.
I’d prefer a taller outside X WR with long arms and big hands. But ultimately just want the best WR. That likely is Lemon.
I’m glad it’s not me making the decision. But in a perfect world, Tyson is there at 13 and life is good!
BTJ scares me a bit. He got very overshadowed by Meyers when they acquired him and had almost not part in the Jags improving last year, even with TLaw having a career year. Here's a thought process as i'm killing time until we pick. Would be a great pick! I'll drink to LoganObviously not in round one but...
Logan Jones no matter what.
Everytime I see him in those I think:Btw Cowher in that turtleneck is the stuff of nightmares.
